So I (M48) really need to make more money. I’ve worked mostly in mental health and public education. Never really had a career path as I worked jobs that didn’t pay too well, but were flexible to care for the kids. Also, my biggest fear is hating work. Needless to say, I’m an underachiever in career.

I thought I finally landed in school counseling, but had two bad job experiences already. I currently work as a library assistant and could easily do a masters in library science and work as a school librarian. I wish I would have done that years ago. Yet here I am now, divorced needing money. I also have a masters degree in accounting I’ve never used.

Any suggestions? Too late to get into tech? Is there anything I could train for that would guarantee a job? I’ve looked into data science. Is it too late to try for accounting? I think I would enjoy that work. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks friends.
