It's just expected due to ancient societal pressure that you marry and produce offspring. It's expected for both genders. And while the norms are there still, the duty of marriage is out the window.

I think most men wish to build a solid base with a nice woman, have the dream family life and be happy...but that is what it really is, a dream. Modern reality for marriage for men is living with and suffering from an oppressive, angry, bitter, manipulative, devious, cheating, narcissistic, entitled, childish brat. There is a very solid reason why the marriage rate is tanking....men have finally started to WAKE UP. They're starting to see the Disney fantasy for the monstrous lie that it is, a scam to fleece men of money all to make women's lives easy.

I applaud any man that refuses to get married anymore. We should all say NO and say exactly why to the women who want marriage, that until the divorce laws are made fairer and women are held accountable to the same standard as men in marriage (ie no cash and prizes for behaving like a whore), then the answer is NO and will remain NO. I personally think the defining moment in the decline of marriage was the introduction and normalisation of "no fault divorce". That took the brakes off peoples worst behaviours (both men and women). You SHOULD be punished for cheating. Why can a woman sleep about, lie and destroy her family and yet be rewarded for doing so? It's completely backward. Fuck about and you should expect to leave with the minimum, otherwise there is zero incentives to behave.

You are required by law to renew your driver's license or you will lose it. Why can't marriage licenses be like this? I would have refused to renew many years ago. :-(

Those stats have only been that way for a relatively short period of time. I'd say marriage doesn't really work in today's Western Culture.

Ultimately it benefits men to not have it, but I do see some early signs that zoomer girls are rejecting 3rd wave feminism in part, so maybe it'll turn around at some point.

Only about 1/4 get divorced overall but then it the percentages differ based on different factors. Remarriages end up divorcing 75% of the time. Article

But even 1/4 is high, so you can stay unmarried. But most states have common law or analogous laws that treat that as a marriage anyway. You can stay a single bachelor and get a dog. You can get a cohabitation or prenup agreement that replaces the law. I know legal contracts are badmouthed for some reason but that’s your safest path right if you want to protect yourself.
