Men of reddit, what were some fears (rational or irrational) that kept you from pulling the plug? What fears were put to bed or brought to the light when you did finally decide to get divorced? Were you worried about co-parenting, child support, asset splitting, custody, social stigma, etc? For background im in my late 20s married almost 10 years (i know, first mistake), 1 child, really no assets aside from a couple $k in 401k's each and some vehicles. Ive been weighing my decision for 3 or so years now and im scared to progress financially further in fear of losing all my hard work (retirement, building a business, buying a house, etc). Lay your experience on me so i may learn!
