My decree was way back in 2008. In all honesty I should have never married the pos ex. All the redflags were there. I just ignored them. A lesson I'll never forget.

Can you share tips for dealing with your narc ex? We finished the court proceedings last year but the "co-parenting" has been unbearable. If we weren't able to get along during the marriage, the inability to get along now has been compounded. Most issues come from her trying to control me and my life through our kids...and then it's me being stubborn and fighting her attempt to control me. I've heard about grey rocking and limiting contact but the one thing this woman has been consistent in is trying to control, manipulate, and ruin my life now. Any tips greatly appreciated

My final decree day was back in 2017, and I got out after 11 years. I stayed positive and stayed in my kids' lives too.

Life is so much better outside of that horrible marriage.

I wish I had an actual finish line in view. Not sure what that looks like at this point. Got the financial side settled over a year ago... For some reason she would not stop insisting she wanted the divorce official before we settled custody so we finally entertained her despite not giving closure on anything (I'm pretty sure she just didnt want to 'be sinful' with her new bf... Even though they're sleeping over and remarriage itself is adultery in our religion). Finally got our custody sorted out a little more than. Month ago ..had an offer on the table for all retroactive section 7 expenses and what to expect going forward... With the understanding unfortunately that needed to be re settled once every year... Seriously? But it seems she didn't even accept that deal... So wondering if we are somehow paying thousands to lawyers over a few thousand bucks... Need to follow up. Either way need to talk about section 7 (extra curricular/medical) every year

Gonna have to deal with her in some capacity until kids are independent (unlike nornal kids where parents might expect them to cover part of their university divorced parents here are on the hook to cover the first degree split between the two ....)

Congrats! Actually just signed over the interest in our mortgage to my ex today. That was part of our agreed-to settlement, and is making this feel more official and final.

That’s awesome but can you provide more detail in the overall process like how it came to an end. Narcs don’t give up easy and make the whole thing very very miserable or they can. So how long did it take, what were the big problems and how’d you get it finalized?
