My wife has asked to call it quits after 15 years of marriage. After trying 6 months of last ditch couples therapy where the asks were mostly on my shoulders all the work didn’t seem to move the needle.

Over the last couple of months I’ve slowly resigned myself that divorce is the best option(what a tough adjustment).

We had been moving through mediation and were able to decide many things amicably. Now we are working on a parentlng plan for our 3 kids and she’s suggesting that I only get every other weekend and I’m asking for 50%.

I’m surprised and a bit depressed that she won’t move any closer to more equitable custody.

I’m really worried about losing so much custody. So I’m wondering what other men’s experiences might have been.

Here are some other basic info. - she’s a great mother - I’m a pretty damn good dad - the kids do favor mom a bit but clearly love me as well - she out earns me 2:1 - I’m gainfully employed and have been for over a decade - I’ve never been in trouble with the law, never cheated, have never put the children in danger, and have no substance abuse issues - my wife and I argue fairly often, but they have never resulted in physical altercations. In many such arguments I’m the more animated and we both worked to try not to argue in front of the 3 kids (not perfect) - we are in MA (Plymouth) - I work regularly with a therapist for support

Appreciate any advice. This has been extremely difficult. Thanks.
