Just went through mediation on Wednesday. My attorney and I held her state retirement hostage in order to get roughly 80% of what I wanted. She's pissed. It was scheduled for 3 hours, but she went on a pitty session with the mediator and ran the bill up another 3 hours. I didn't get everything I wanted, but I'm so glad I fought now. I went in with the attitude you have now, but my attorney kicked me in the balls and said we're gonna fight hard. So, we did. One more step to remove her out of my life. The Final Divorce Hearing. If possible, iron out the details with the ex prior to the mediator. When you get in front of mediator you just say this is what we’ve decided upon, how do we make it happen? Now of course this assumes you can reason with the ex, but just lay out the assets, and split it in half. The alimony and /or child support is a formula you can’t do anything about anyway.

I wouldn’t recommend because eventually you’ll come to your senses and realize that was not the smartest move and it’ll cost you more to go back and try and change the mistake.

Mediation more times then not is a waste of time unless you simply just don’t care about then why do mediation just sign whatever they want but again you’ll eventually regret that. Fight the long fight it’ll be worth it in the end
