Hey guys, I just want to share a success story for all of you feeling destroyed like I was 4 months ago. I was married for 19 years, with 23 years together. I spent my entire adult life with this woman. When we finally decided to separate in June, I was devastated. I let my thoughts run wild and imagined starting over with no money.

The time apart has been great for me, no fighting, no drama, no more feeling defensive or needing to explain myself. We are splitting time with the kids 50/50 so now I have 2 weeks a month that I can focus on my shit and take care of all the things I’d been neglecting. My piece of mind is at an all time high.

We just finalized the settlement and although I’m paying child support and alimony, she can no longer spend like crazy. My payment to her now is way less than she was spending while we were together so I actually have more money than I did when we were married. The alimony portion is only 1/3 of the payment so when my kids age out in a few years, I’ll be even better off.

I just want you to know divorce doesn’t mean you are ruined. It may feel like that at first, it certainly did for me. Many of you will be far better off on your own so hang in there!
