I just had an alimony pendent lite hearing today. Well, an attorney representing me did. Been married 22 years I have always paid for the household expenses Every Thing mortgages utilities, insurance, cell phones, food you name it i paid it for 22 years. She worked and made a decent wage as a dental assistant, office manager etc 30 years in the dental field. She spent her earnings on horses and car payments never contributed to the household expenses. In the last 5 years of marriage she decided not to work in the dental field and became a school bus driver. That pays $80.00 per day.

While we were married I moved up the corporate ladder starting with 25K a year and moved to 80K. Just before I called it quits I landed a job at 140K. There was no contribution on her part our kids were teenagers he when we got married. .y second her third marriage. She claims to the court she has not worked since splitting up but somehow manages to pay a 500. Car payment for the last 6 months. The loan is in my name and her as a co-owner. She didn't make enough as a bus driver to afford the loan payments.

Now for the bend over and take it without lube. After the hearing my attorney said I will be required to pay $504 per Week for alimony pendent lite. There was no consideration for my expenses like a mortgage on a house, property taxes or the fact that she is living rent free in a house we own outright in the Mountains of Pennsylvania. She also has some side gigs she makes cash on. I know she has a boyfriend she's even working for him as a notary. Her mother is dumb enough to leave a bread crumb trail as evidence of the relationship.

Disclosure, "we" own two houses one in Pennsylvania that is paid off except for property taxes and insurance and another house in North Carolina with a mortgage. I am renting the North Carolina house out for less than the mortgage currently I'm negative 500 a month in paying the mortgage payments. The property taxes in Pennsylvania are delinquent so I guess I'll have to pay those as well. WTF right?

A) Did my attorney do thier job? B) Is it worth fighting for? C) I moved to Florida when I split. Should I tell her lawyer I am moving back to my house in Pennsylvania and send notice of eviction. Since the house is paid for I could live there rent free instead of paying rent and utilities here in Florida.

Bottom line she is going to pull down 26K live rent free and earn another 15K driving a school bus. She might even get real alimony for quite a few years after the divorce and equitable distribution is final. I hope not but there is a chance the court will keep me bent over.

I am sure there is going to be a big celebration for her tonight!

If you are not married I would highly suggest prenuptial if your dumb enough to get married. Otherwise Don't Get Married EVER.
