30M. I live in the suburbs of a conservative part of the USA. I struggled with self-esteem & anxiety growing up. I was always very shy around women & had few girl friends. Almost all my friends were boys.

I started dating men on & off throughout college. I had 2 boyfriends back then. I’m not really that sexually attracted to men but I do enjoy their company. I never really considered myself gay, just extremely lonely & looking for someone to be affectionate towards me. Really pathetic, I know.

I’m more sexually attracted to women but I have trouble relating to women. I don’t understand them & they often are very cold to me. I don’t know how to navigate the relationship dynamics when dating women.

In my mid 20’s, when I shifted more towards dating women, I discovered the disgust that many women have towards bisexual men. With only one exception, every single one has ended things immediately when I open up about my prior dating history. Even the most “liberal” women will run like a bat out of hell from a man who is open about his bisexual experiences.

It makes me honestly have romantic disdain towards women. I don’t think I can ever truly trust a woman after how they treated me. They make me feel like damaged goods.

I can on the surface get along with them in professional settings. But it’s hard not to hate them romantically when they have treated me this way.
