Problem with this sub.

A lot of red pill guys who show up here have realized that red pill is making them miserable, so they want to get off it. But what they haven't always done yet is analyze some of their own bad underlying politics that led them to red pill. So they're looking to detox but kind of rebelling against the idea that it's not just red pill, but those underlying politics, that is the problem.

I think it’s because there are a lot of people here that still have trouble with detoxing completely. When I changed my life and became a feminist I would still look at women differently and still hold some of the internalized misogyny even few years after I cut myself from all this bullcrap. It takes time, only now 3 years later I can say I’m 100% free from internalized misogyny, so maybe those here who post redpill stuff are just still in the process and needs to realise how their thinking is wrong?

I think you're seeing an influx of borderline redpillers that haven't spilled the pill yet and fdesers who fight the red pill with more red pill.

I don't believe in heavy censorship so the only thing we can do is keep posting the material this sub is meant to have. If this doesn't work, then it's a sign that reddit isn't the place to detox.

The thing that makes the redpill so contagious is that it's telling half-truths, so a part of me is wondering if what you're referring to is people not throwing the baby out with the bath water. I guess specific examples might be helpful here.

This! I also think that some of the advice people offer towards incels here is not only unhelpful, but sometimes even counterintuitive. I see a whole lot of “Just improve yourself bro” advice hurled at them, which is problematic for a few reasons:

• This advice is often presented as if it will guarantee them luck

• This assumes that they haven’t already tried to improve themselves

• This mounts almost all of the blame on them as individuals and doesn’t consider things that might be out of their control that hinder their luck (i.e. having mental/physical impairments, living in remote areas, and other circumstances)

A lot of these men have fallen victim to the problematic “You’re only valid as a man of you have a lot of casual sex/a relationship” line of thinking and I think our sub should be centered around deconstructing that, not encouraging it. It’s a lot more productive to allow these men to accept themselves regardless of their n-count or romantic success, not borderline encourage the opposite by shifting the fault of their lack of success entirely onto them.

I’m not an incel but if I was, I don’t think much of peoples “advice” given in this sub would help me out much.

Lastly, I’ve started to realize that there’s some overlap with FDS and this sub. If you’ve spent a good deal of time on this block of the Reddit city, you’re likely at least somewhat familiar with that sub. It’s basically redpill for women and it most DEFINITELY reinforces redpill ideology, especially hypergamy. I just find it kind of ironic that a lot of participants of this sub who present themselves as anti-RP hold some of its core tenets themselves.

Yeah I don't know whether it is because it isn't properly moderated or not, but when it comes to r/expredpill in comparison to r/IncelExit, for instance, this subs seems to be way more toxic and is not taking any stance on promoting harmful views at all. I'm afraid I have to unsubscribe soon, unfortunately.

There are some valuable ideas in the red pill though, making yourself your own mental point of origin, not allowing women to walk walk over you or demand everything from you just for being born female. The red pill gave me a lot of personal skills like self care and self respect.

Where I drew the line though was when the majority of the redpill YouTubers I subscribed to started becoming more akin to a a daytime talk show just deconstructing articles and bitching about each other, fresh and fit was a great example of this, people who talk a good talk but are vacuous, plenty of other examples and certainly a lot of examples of red pill males who devolve into just constant women bashing, even the 'pillar of the community' Rollo Tommassi has been called out for double standards and that's kinda when I called it a day and went my own way.

To say everything about the red pill is bad and that we should deconstruct it all is damaging to young men, the red pill certainly saved me from suicide and it moulded me into a man who is more confident, assertive, certainly more successful in my business and a lot happier. Take the lessons that impacted you positively and dump the rest, I'm twice the man I ever was and also 2/3 of the weight and I put that down to the things I learned from the red pill.

One thing that always left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth about the red pill though was the hatred for women, that's the thing that we should demonise, to call people out for making improvements to their mental and physical wellbeing and talking well of it doesn't send the right message.
