If he cared enough to impress he, he'd have clean and decent bedding. Edit: Also, beware of ulterior motives. A guy I used to work with told me he had a friend who would only have a bedsheet and no blanket so that the women he brought home to sleep with would get cold and not spend the night. True story.

Some people seem to think it's normal to sleep on a bare mattress. I have no idea where they get the idea that fitted sheets and mattress pads aren't needed, but apparently some people are just raised that way. A trailer trash acquaintance of mine had her children sleep on bare mattresses with blankets on the floor. This kind of behavior is disgusting and needs to be stamped out.
