Cultural, familiar and religious reasons.

In quite a few patriarchal cultures the family has no standing until the wife bears a boy. (Ultrasounds are often used to abort girls, because they are considered worthless and you have to pay a dowry to the groom.)

When the wife finally has one, that boy (or boys) is spoiled rotten.

He's allowed to do anything and everything with out repercussions. If he wants something the parents make sure he gets it. His education comes first. The sisters must clean up after him and are forced to share their food and treats. (But never the other way around.)

He is considered their "lord and protector" until they get married and he can kill them if he feels they have dishonored the family name with premarital sex.

Sounds crazy? That's actually how a huge majority of the world population lives right now in the 21st century.

It's not much better in the western part of the world, just more insidious.

Men are raised with insane amounts of entitlement and then school/church/friends just expand on that.

And nobody's going to like it but pick me's grossly contribute to that phenomenon.

When I met my ex he was struggling and unhappy with his job, while I was successful and earning wayyy more than him. YET he acted like he knew it all, constantly belittling and mocking me. Basically he felt powerful after making me feel small / stupid.

I’ve realised that LVMs are so insecure about themselves that they mask it with arrogance.

It comes from the distinct lack of critical examination of male flaws in the discourse of daily life, and ESPECIALLY online. NOBODY criticizes them... at all. When they do fuck up, royally, they minimize the damage and discount anyone who dares to shine a spotlight on their screwups, then proceed to gaslight folks into thinking that "it's not that bad".

They get validation for toxic behaviors and are championed online for being worthless pieces of shit by places like MGTOW/Incel/Redpill subs.

Nobody's telling men that they're hitting a wall, and that they don't get hotter with age. Nobody's out here pointing out the fact that they're likely to go bald with age, which makes them look worse (not better) with time. If you look at the number of subscribers to places like /Men_Of_The_Wall versus places like /WhereAreAllTheGoodMen subs, there's like a 5 to 1 disparity in the number of men criticizing women vs the number of women criticizing men. There's a lack of negative info about men....

I let my exes get away with belittling me, trying to one-up me all the time, and all around disrespect me (back in my pickmeisha days). Both of them were not that attractive, but acted like they were God's gift to women.

I think psychology plays a role. Males have lower neuroticism, and lower agreeableness. They have less negative emotion and they are less likely to get along with others, to put it simply.

It's because they have a dick. Possessing a penis makes them feel like the cock of the walk (pun intended).
