• picking you up from the airport
  • helping you move
  • taking care of you when you're sick
  • helping you run errands
  • opening doors
  • taking the check
  • complimenting you every time he sees you
  • not being attached to his phone in your presence
  • listening intently
  • prioritizing you over everything unimportant
  • asking your opinion on things
  • being respectful to you in public
  • never tolerating shit-talking about you
  • he should defend you
  • he cannot let his friends/family gang up on you
  • he should be proud to have his relationship status known to everyone
  • he should post you on social media (not in an excessive, extra way, but like a normal, loving bf)
  • he should be making you feel beautiful
  • he should encourage your dreams and goals
  • he should be remembering important holidays like your anniversary, your birthday, and Valentine's Day, writing cards and getting gifts for these events
  • he should be respectful to your friends and family
  • he should pay for your Uber to go see him
  • he should answer phone calls and texts in a timely fashion
  • he should remember your likes, dislikes, and preferences
  • he should take your comfort and safety into consideration at all times
  • he can't make you look foolish or stupid in front of anyone
  • he needs to be tactful enough to know not to bring up exes or other dumb shit
  • he should not be sweeping anything under the rug, he should be able to communicate productively, like an adult
  • he should get you water and food and not expect you to just help yourself, he should have a lot of courtesy and the desire to do things for you in general

Don't be gaslighted into thinking these basic common courtesy things are abnormal. My mind was blown when I found out one of my girl friend's boyfriend never picks her up from the airport. Who does that? I know y'all would take your friends and even friends of friends if they asked. What kind of a bf isn't there to greet his beloved girlfriend and help her with her bags?
