Depression manifests differently in men than in women.

Depressed women are more likely to be people-pleasers, overachievers, keep to themselves, and put themselves second for everyone else's sake.

Depressed men are more likely to be irritable, aggressive, self-unaware, have victim mentalities, underperform at work, contribute little to nothing in terms of domestic or emotional labor, abuse substances, and be emotionally unavailable/immature. None of this translates to a HVM.
