I’ve seen so many wise old women saying basically the same thing. I think if it weren’t for the economic aspects of partnering up, a lot of women would really be better off remaining single. Women usually bear the brunt of the relationship emotionally and physically. I’m done spending my life trying to figure them out, walking on eggshells, investing in self improvement because I thought I wasn’t good enough, going to therapists, taking pills, crying boatloads of tears, honestly since I’ve been single I’ve really barely cried, have incredibly more inner peace, sleep better at night, and have the space finally to love myself instead of live in constant self doubt over a LVM’s behavior. Old ladies don't give a fuck anymore. My grandmother asked me about my boyfriend. I thought she'd start going on about marriage but she got serious and told me to not ever get married. I am not saying she didn't love my grandfather(he sadly died before I was born and people say he was a good man. But they say that about all men, so) But she didn't have a choice in whether to get married or not. In her village, in the 1950s...no other option.

My grandparents have been married for over 55 years. this last time I visited them my grandma said to me “we should get rid of the men in our lives” and I was shocked- this woman is the sweetest old lady who has never said anything negative about anyone. Im realizing now my Gpa has always been LV and he’s even more angry, dependant and demanding in his old age. We have options ladies, Grandma knows best

Yes, now that my abusive ex is back to living with his mother, she can once again continue to do his laundry, cook for him, clean up after all the messes he makes in the house, pay his rent and other bills since he has been unemployed for 4 months, give him extra money for his beer and marijuana habit, drive e him around everywhere since his car broke down and he has made no efforts to get it fixed, and all for no appreciation at all! That's what I had to endure for six years with him and she had no empathy for me. She can have him! At least she won't be domestically abused. Like I was. I wouldn't wish that upon anybody.
