I just wanted to thank this community for being what it is, it helps me when I’m feeling lonely living alone, single, turning 30 in two weeks, during a pandemic, and -30C weather up here in Canada. I've been dabbling in online dating just to see if anyone is worth talking to and hoping maybe, if anything, I could establish a connection/friendship with a male to meet when the world opens back up again. I find myself unmatching almost everyone though, and I love it. It makes me feel so empowered, each unmatch is a reminder that I get to choose, and if I don't find someone that meets my expectations, and enriches my life for the better, then that's okay, I'll be happier without them.

Examples:

him: "hi. drinks"? <--- unmatch (I would unmatch in general at this one, but it's ultra-scrotelike when it's during a pandemic and literally restaurants are closed)

*says anything sexual* <--- unmatch

*answers questions about his own life, doesn't ask about mine or doesn't contribute to the flow of the conversations nicely (e.g. one word answers) <--- unmatch

him: complains about past relationship, how much she sucked <--- unmatch

*aggressive stance on being pro-life, or anti-vegan, or whatever else he feels like mansplaining to me within the first few messages* <--- unmatch

Ladies, try it, it's really fun, it's like whack-a-scrote!

Lol but seriously, it sucks to see what's out there, but I truly believe it will make a HVM seem that much better when (if) I do find him.. also, a few ladies in this community told me that most HVM's aren't on dating apps right now anyway, they're at home levelling up and following the rules. So that's really what I should be doing too.
