Covid has forced women and children to be trapped with abusers. They're the ones who are suffering the most, not to mention government's trying to push banning abortions and women being forced out of the workforce because of shit employers and even shittier useless men who won't do anything at home.

Yeah. Hearing about some of these policies that DISPROPORTIONALLY affected women to the point of threatening their lives (at worst) or just plan working them into the ground (at best) over the past year and a half has been sickening. I've been so angry and disillusioned with the people making the rules over the utter lack of any effort whatsoever to mitigate this, all while the (overwhelmingly male) 1% became exponentially richer.

This is what happens when daughters are treated like slaves. (Having to do more cooking,cleaning,looking after younger siblings while boys do nothing). And also sexual abuse has increased in boys 12+ raping their younger sisters by using the things they’ve learned from porn.

Wtf I just read the article about the boy who eatched porn and raped his sister. This is terrifying. And now say porn is not dangerous. It's not like kids are safe from it. It is extremely easily accessible.

Agreed. My 14 year cousin was anally raped at 10 years old by a 12 year old cousin of a friend who my aunts had over visiting. What 12 year old knows to stick their Dick in the arse of a girl unless they got it watching porn or discussing it with their porn addict friends ?!!
My aunts had no idea and my cousin only just started seeking support about it recently as she was too scared to speak up earlier not wanting to get into trouble. Naturally they’re extremely angry at the parents of that boy and also totally heartbroken.
Protect girls at all costs and never leave them alone with boys!!!

Thankfully also my aunt is extremely feminist! She would be in total agreement with everything FDS. Unfortunately, they let their guard down one time as these friends were long time friends like my cousin has been friends with their son for her whole life and they’re best friends still. It was their nephew/sons cousin who came over and that was all it took. One afternoon of letting a boy into their home who was related to her best friend.
They’re all a few states away from me so unfortunately I don’t see them that often but I was contacted about support options and avenues for redress due to my experience in Child Safety and Child Molestation (I worked in this area of law for a number of years).
Unfortunately their state is still in lockdown so I can’t come down to visit either :(
The whole thing stinks and I’m seriously thinking about sending a link to the FDS podcast to my cousin over DM as I have her on my Insta.

Because parents setting controls on their internet or checking their childrens socials is abuse, apparently. Apparently we're supposed to just let our children discover porn at any age and then remind them that it's not realistic but then to just let them keep watching it, otherwise that's shaming and apparently worse than raping your own 7yo sister.

Yep, every time I see someone say they prefer to be more strict someone always tries to dissuade them by saying “if your strict your kids will just hate you and learn to lie and sneak around behind your back.” But not all kids who are given rules and boundaries will behave that way if their parents explain the dangers of those sites, only stupid kids who think they know better than their parents would try to sneak and see.

Totally, my parents were very strict about smoking and taking drugs, said if they ever found out I had done it they'd ship me off to the old country (they wouldn't have, lol, but I didn't realise that as a kid). I listened and to this day I've never taken drugs or smoked a cigarette, meanwhile, most my old school friends are smokers and a significant portion of them are reliant on, if not addicted to, drugs.
Lots of kids respond positively to having parents who have firm but fair boundaries/rules; as a child it made me feel secure and like there was no problem I couldn't bring to them to help me fix, I fully understood that they were the adults and that it was their job to protect me. And I knew that their rules were smart and came from a place of love.

It’s irresponsible to let children be on devices without supervision tbh. Not even just parental controls kids are smart and can tackle those better than the parents but just straight up don’t put a computer in their room don’t let them be on the computer without your supervision. Like 8 y o should not be discovering porn TF raise your kids

Stuck at home consuming social media that tells them all they are is a product. So sad. When I was a kid I read books all the time, but now we’ve let kids have access to what’s essentially a hand-held casino designed to destroy self esteem

Ive always said this at work when the strong clinicians were inventing stuff and reaching out to the community and getting by while the weaker ones were quiting or drowning. The pandemic is a crucible to what we are and what society is. It just amplifies it and brings it to surface. The system is against us.
