I’ve been contemplating on the advice I’ve read here.

If you are with someone who you perceive to be a HVM, but he has a few flaws as all humans do, how do you know whether it’s a dealbreaker or just something you can get over? Does anyone have examples of knowing an HVM who has clear shortcomings but you chose them regardless?

My point is, I fear making the mistake of breaking up with someone because of a flaw, only to later realize I threw someone amazing away over a petty reason that could’ve been worked out through compromise. E.g.,

Not putting down the toilet seat, or leaving dirty dishes on the counter

Are these bigger issues that highlight a disregard for other people around them? Just a few examples of things I’ve seen men do where I’m asking, “should their partner have to put up with this? Is it that deep?”

I’m still trying to unlearn what I’ve been taught when it comes to tolerating men. It’s hard.
