Friendships

· Does he have friends?

o Not having friends was a red flag and an “X” for me

o Are his friends good people?

· Does he have long term friendships?

o This indicates he’s capable of maintaining relationships

· Does he have female friends?

o I took it as a green flag if he had women, he was truly long term friends with that he was not, and had never, tried to date. This demonstrated he was capable of viewing women outside the context of a romantic relationship and sees them as people.

Views on dating/marriage

· Are any of his friends married?

o I looked at how he reacted to friends who were either married or planning on getting married. If you’re looking to get married and he reacts negatively to these things you’re not on the same page.

· Are his parents married?

· Does he tell you he just wants casual?

o If he does, believe him.

Residence

· Does he have furniture?

· Does he have cleaning supplies?

· Does he have cooking supplies?

· Does he have decorations?

· Does he have good bedding (including sheets, pillows, and a comforter)

· Is his place clean?

o Does he have a regular cleaning schedule?

o Does he wash his bedding/towels, things that are sometimes overlooked?

· Does he have trash cans in the bathroom? (ie look for the little things)

Employment

· Does he have a full-time job or in a full-time course of study for a career?

· Does he have a good employment record?

o Ie he’s not getting in trouble for showing up late or skipping days

Finances

· Is he in debt?

o If so, is he making regular payments on the debt?

· Does he pay all his bills on time?

· Does he spend money frivolously?

· Does he have financial goals?

· Is he financially generous?
