I was recently employed at Kroger’s in the produce department. I work ONLY with men. I am the only girl. Today had to be one of the worst days of my life. I don’t even want to go to work because I don’t think I can stop crying. I’m a black women and I work with a white guy and a few minorities. The white guy let’s call him Star. He has a liking of me he’s talking to me more than he ever has when I first started there. There’s this new guy let’s call him Robert and the guy over the department let’s call him Den. Today my job decides to feed us today with pizza in the Bakery department. My department is right next to it and we can go through double doors to get to it. Other than walking all the way around I decide to squeeze through the double doors (bananas were stacked in front the door). I had to walk all the way around cause I thought one of the guys blocked the entry after they saw me squeeze through. So I confront them and ask them who did it. They Sami’s they didn’t touch it but star brings up he could understand how I get through with my ass being so big. ( I’m a very short girl and the first thing BOYS notice about me is my ass). So I just continued the conversation about who blocked the door. The new guy who I thought was a man, Robert said that I opened the door wrong and try again so I did. I went through the door to the bakery and back out. Then Robert comes and points out that my boob was hanging out my apron. (Not unclothed. I had a shirt on that doesn’t require you to wear a bra and my apron is too big). So I fix my apron and I go complain to the guy over the department, Dean. I told him to please tell the guys to stop being so perverted. He tells me to go tell them to stop then he walks back there and tells them to no to it when I’m around. I feel like a fucking circus animals. How they would treat black women back in the day because of how we are shaped. I don’t even had words to say how violated I feel.
