My husband always turns the porch light on before we leave for these reasons. That, and I'm scared of the dark, lol.

I love the idea of porch lights being on when I get home, and I’m always trying to remember to turn them on before we go out to dinner. (Not that often, because we don’t go out to dinner in the panini)

He would always look at me funny when I asked to have the porch lights on, but wouldn’t leave them on.

But one time I remembered to turn them on before we left. Coming up the street and the driveway, I was so pleased to see our door lit up. How bucolic! How welcoming! (I grew up in a huge city, we don’t have porches)

Until I got near the door and was emotionally assaulted by hundreds of bugs, some of which I’d never seen before, and some were freakishly large.

He ran up and opened the door for me, because I was too busy screaming and flapping my arms in the air like I thought I could take flight.

Never turned the light on again.

But he does open my car door for me, and will often run ahead and open the house door. Gotta love that man.

I love this

My boyfriend runs head of me to open doors. He also poured my wine at the fancy new restaurant in the casino we visited over the weekend. I know it doesn’t seem like much but he did NOT want me to reach 1ft to my left, grab the bottle from the ice bucket, and pour. He got up from his seat and got the bottle and refilled (he paid for the room and arranged everything)

Ladies, if this isn’t your reality yet, you can still experience the convenience! I discovered the Philips smart bulb setting that illuminates my home when my phone connects to WiFi after being away. Of course, a HVM doing this is lovely, and OP, I am so happy for you ❤️🙂

Here's a small comparison between my ex and my current boyfriend that really highlights how differently they treat me.

I had strep throat and a high fever, went to the hospital every single day for injections, and my ex (we lived together) made me go to the grocery store by myself because he was too tired.

When I got a cold recently, my current boyfriend finished his 8 hour shift, went to town to buy me dinner and tea (specifically the one I casually mentioned that I want to try in a conversation weeks prior) and brought it to my doorstep, just because I said I can't drink plain water cause my throat hurts.

Ladies, if he wanted to, he would.

Meanwhile my ex would run ahead to get the heavy ass door to his apartment, and when I tried to catch up so he could hold it for me, he’d often end up closing it on me, hitting me. 🤦‍♀️

When it rains while we're out driving, my husband backs the car right up to our step so I can literally step out of the car and into the house when we get back. Then he pulls forward and straightens out, since he can't get out of the car from that far back.

Or if we're leaving the house and it's raining, be runs outside to bring the car closer so I don't get wet. He also starts the car in the winter so it's warm when I get in, and always goes out early to clean it off before we leave.
