Does anyone else experience this?

In a conversation with men, they’ll explain a concept or task and I’ll ask specific questions related to that task. And they just fucking repeat themselves. I didn’t ask “what” I didn’t say “say it again” - I asked a very specific question related to what you said.

My male manager does this all the time. “We need to do x,y,z because of this consequence” I say “ok if I do z this way, will it work” He’ll say “we need to do x, y, z”

Yea. I fucking know that - I’m trying to understand the details of what I need to fucking do.

My bf was explaining a historical war scene and I suggested a reasoning behind the tactic AND HE REPEATED HIMSELF. He said nothing about the reasoning, planning, or how well it worked. He just said what it was.

I’ve gotten into actual fights with my boss over it. He just kept repeating himself over and over and I lost my cool. I finally snapped “yes. I understand the concept, I’m not stupid. You’re not listening to me - I am asking if X affects Y” he was shocked but he FINALLY ANSWERED MY QUESTION. I didn’t even phrase it in a new way! I asked the same thing I first asked!

Men will respond to questions I ask out of the blue. Or unrelated questions.

But whenever we have a real discussion and I ask specific questions about what they said it seems like they tune me out. It drives me fucking mad.

Anyone else see this?
