I felt this on an existential level
[–]CuriousBubbleMilkTeaFDS Newbie79 points80 points81 points 5 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Oh that jackass has a name and it's me 😔
We broke up before our anniversary, and I still begged him to stay. I sent him animation video that I created to gift him. And also a long ass letter about my feelings for him.
And then crickets.
The clown is me 🤡 the whole circus is me 🤡
And I still can't forgive myself until today.

I always remind myself that people only accept love that they think they deserve. And the fact that you were just more loving. It ain't your fault that he is a mean person. We can not change the past bit we can change what it meant. Forgive your self and learn something from the experience.

Thank you so much. I am definitely trying everyday. I hope I will feel better soon!

Everything will be fine, I promise.

Are you me?? I filled a notebook off all the ways I appreciated him & all the things he did for me, left it in his mailbox, and nothing 🤡

We should build a circus together, sis! 😂

What? Women are SUPPOSED TO BE loving and attached, and also accepting of some amount of bullshit personality because how else could we raise children?
Being vulnerable isn’t bad and that’s the only thing you did “wrong.” You just need to vet better before you get attached. You didn’t realize. Now you know. No big deal. Nothing to forgive, just forget. 👍🏻

oooof lesson learned
[–]werker115FDS Newbie2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I can relate. I am so embarrassed that I begged my ex to stay after our fight that did us in. I still cringe reflecting on it. We gotta forgive ourselves and realize we will never learn and do better if we did not have this experiences and later realizations. I try to look at that experience as a lesson I am lucky to have, for future experiences. Some women never have that ability to reflect on this stuff properly, and that is the real travesty. Good luck sis!

Oof. That literally happened today, and I feel like its because I made things weird by asking yesterday what he thought about me...

You should never have to ask a guy how he feels about you. You should never be in a position to wonder or feel insecure. That means he's not doing his job. It means he doesn't care.
[–]CarpedictumFDS Newbie9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Agree. He’s seen enough movies to know exactly how to wow someone he wants. If he isn’t, he doesn’t.
[–]Incredible_Alligator 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I just screenshot this comment. It couldn't be more true. I was with the LV ex and never knew how he felt about me or where I stood with him. Because he simply just didn't care and wasn't into me. I wish I'd been awake to this sooner.

me constantly asking for confirmation if our planned date is still happening and not getting a response until he gets back with a lame excuse on the day of, after I already prepped myself runway-ready in case he confirms. only for him to sext me days later and expecting me to take a 2-hour train ride at night.

You better block that lvm.
[–]hvwthrowawayFDS Newbie21 points22 points23 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
that was like 4 years ago, it's still on my mind tho...I just discovered this sub and it has been triggering lots of memories and bad feelings.
[–]pozzalovahFDS Apprentice[S] 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Same here I had at first felt resitence when experiencing this sub first but after a while I've went through those emotion and I am fine rn. It takes time but you will be okay eventually.
[–]hvwthrowawayFDS Newbie6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thanks for the encouragement! I feel like by reading here, I'm starting to finally make sense of that situationship. It feels depressing and embarassing right now, realizing all the red flags in hindsight, as clear as a traffic signal...but I think I'll be able to finally heal from it now bc of FDS. I believe it was the confusion that kept me from actually moving on, and not wanting to realize that he was a LVM. Talking with friends about this has never brought the clarity I got from reading this sub for a week!
[–]pozzalovahFDS Apprentice[S] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well from experience f riends tend to give bad advice without any ill - intention as they too get emotional as they are your friends. I am sure you will eventually become the great women you want to be so dw. And I am proud of you for taking steps to initiate change!

It's just this need to be proactive, to do something and show that you care. But people don't forget how much they love/like you. And if it's in their head, then you literally can't do anything to affect the outcome.

that's such a weird request tho?! what's the context? I wonder if he just sent it to another girl, pretending it's from him...

Oh I see! He probably faked interested and got overwhelmed once he actually read it and didn't know how to respond!
[–]pozzalovahFDS Apprentice[S] 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Just give him radio silence too. Don't block him, I promise he will send you a message eventually just make sure when he does, you see it and not respond. Don't answer anything for a week uk. I am sure your poem is really pretty and I would love to read it! Try to enjoy your day and as we all know men suck

No honey that's not how men work. Men consider even bad attention as attention so he will see u as needy.you just need to back off, the fact that he is being cold means that you showed some needy behaviors or found another girl. Just stay cold and when he does text don't respond just enjoy the ego boost.
[–]CarpedictumFDS Newbie2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
He messaged you because he might want to talk to you later. He’s still shopping.
Pass and ewwww
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That is hurtful on multiple levels. I would block after 3 days. Come on! Other fish in the sea, abundance mindset.
[–]KY0203FDS Newbie7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This man literally messaged me three days in a row without me giving a single response.
He eventually flat out asks why I’m ignoring him and canceling plans. I finally respond with a thoughtful, well written response explaining why I was turned off (we only had a few FaceTime calls and I just didn’t feel a natural chemistry there and while he texts frequently, it’s very surface level and awkward). His response....”whatevs”. I tell him that’s exactly the issue, no communication, he’s impossible to build a connection with. He then ignores ME, after he spent days snapping, texting, and video calling me trying to get me to respond. Made zero sense to ignore me after all that. Next morning he texts, “so when imma see you” 🤦♀️
The audacity. You do not ignore me after I finally do respond to you.
The best part though, he’s an athlete (matched on Tinder and I had no clue who he was until later on, we’ve FaceTimed and he messaged me from his verified IG so I’m positive it’s him). He can have his pick of the pick meisha’s. Chasing a regular girl seemed odd to me. I’m attractive and educated but nothing “special”, in that regard. Then I realized, it’s bc I’m not chasing him and acting desperate. He’s not used to a girl turning him down. It drives him crazy! Men want a woman who isn’t easy, they like the challenge. I’m still not giving in but the entire experience was eye opening. The old me would have been flattered and acted thirsty, in turn, he’d likely have blown ME off for someone else. The new me knows her worth and doesn’t care who you are, my expectations do not lower. When you behave like you know you’re high value, men become much more curious about you.
We tell THEM what our value is and set the bar, not the other way around!

Amen sis!
I would add don’t text a LVM first again who WILL always answer your text, but with bad intent . . .

yo real talk that scene was so scary to me as a kid
[–]AlextheAnalystPickmeisha™️1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is very similar to the scene in Pinocchio where they all smoke cigars and turn into jackasses, which scared the crap out of me too!
