There’s not a man alive I trust enough to not leave me with the burden of raising a child alone because he thinks it’s too difficult. You can break up but if you have a kid with a shitty man...he’s never out of your life. Even if he’s a bum who taps out at birth; he could come back years later and fuck shit up. Nooooope.

I don’t mind kids. I’m happy to be an auntie instead lmao.

I’m 37 and child free! I love spending time with my friends’ kids and my nephews/nieces, but I’m so happy and grateful to come home to my own space at the end of the day. Tbh, I am still open to having a child with the right person but I’m realistic in that it’s probably not going to happen within a timeframe that takes into account my age and I’m really okay with that. I always thought maybe I would adopt a young kid or teen, but it seems like someone like me (single, not a super high earner) would never get approved.

To each their own. Some want kids and that's okay, some don't and that's okay too. FDS is all about what's best for YOU. Don't force yourself for society's expectations if you don't truly want them yourself.

I'm nearly 40 and childfree and I love my life! I get to do whatever I want! I make good money working at a job that allows me to set my own schedule. All the extra money I save I use to travel 3 to 4 months a year. I watch all my friends with kids struggle to even get a few hours to themselves. I never ever wanted kids though, even as a small child I thought dolls were stupid. I spent a month in Hawaii last year, sitting on the beach every day, and drinking Mai Tais at happy hour :)

Its a great decision. The world today is beyond messed up. To bring other people into it because you want to experience motherhood is unbelievably selfish.

I'm 52 and childfree by choice. It is by far the best decision of my life. Many women I know have told me they regret having children. That has to be one of the worst regrets to have.

Im child free for a number of reasons. I don’t like kids, I don’t like taking care of living creatures (can’t even keep a damn plant alive smh), and I like money and freedom. I’ve never been interested in having kids, even when I was a child I had no interest in “playing mommy” with dolls or anything like that.

It sucks because I’ve always been a hopeless romantic and have always wanted a family, but growing up and not being as sheltered as I was when I was younger has made me realize that men ain’t shit. It’s SO HARD to find a HVM that I just don’t even want to try anymore.

And I’m 19.

I hate that I feel like this, but it is what it is, I guess. :/

I talked to my gynecologist when I turned 18 about getting a hysterectomy. I asked a few times again. It's a no from him each time and I found a doctor that would do it out of state but it's an out of pocket cost. I dont want kids ever. I love children so much and frequently volunteer with them and babysit but I never wanted to have my own kids. I respect that it is each womans personal choice and some of my classmates are moms now and I am happy for them. My other classmates are child free and plan on keeping it that way. I had an ex that had a male roomate with an on/ off girlfriend that had a kid from a previous relationship. She was a horrible parent, ignored the child, yelled at him, and only fed him fast food and pasta. He had serious speech delays for his age. I ended up calling cps and she moved elsewhere righg afterwards so I dont know what happened but I was worried for her kid and even more terrified as she was pregnant with the on/off 2and boyfriends baby.

I personally dont want to have to go through the physical impacts of pregnancy on my body. I dont want the burden of raising a child. Personally I want to have my career, my freedom, to travel, and have more money. I think society needs to stop shaming women or making comments laughing "oh you'll change your mind just wait". I also think its rude to ask moms "when are you gonna pop another one out?" I cant imagine. If I see a mom with a stroller or a pregnant woman I always try to get the door for her or give up my seat. Youd be surprised how many people walk past or continue sitting. Can you imagine having all the Weight on your belly or trying to carry a baby and diaper bag/ push a heavy stroller too? We need to be more respectful period.

I am child free. I could go into many reasons why (at least 70) but in relation to this sub, I don’t trust any man to be a good father as good as my own father was to me. I plan to get sterilized if I meet someone (out of his own pocket, of course). Too many men don’t pick up the slack and want a Kodak family without putting in the effort anyway.

I think I would like to have kids, but not any time soon. It sucks because anything over 35 is apparently a 'geriatric' pregnancy. If I think about my timeline, I think I'm most likely to want to have a child at that age. I also always envisioned myself having a kid in my 30s, even when I was a teenager.

I'm also not sure if I'd have enough money to raise a kid, or if I would find a man who could be a good parent. If neither of those happens by 35 I'd be childfree as I would want any child of mine to have a better life than I did, and if I can't do that then I wouldn't intentionally have a kid.

I love kids, but made a decision not to have any of my own. I might adopt in future, or foster, but my country restricts adoption for single parents and age of parents for fostering, so there's a limit on my ability to do that, too.

I'm still on the fence about it, but as I learn more about the world and see current events, I think I might end up child free. Also I have many interests and things I'd love to do and having children would hinder that, don't get me wrong though, I really love kids. I'm just scared the risk might not be worth the reward.

I am about to be 38 in 3 months.. been single for about 4 yrs now & I'm enjoying every minute of it. I don't really want to get married but if a relationship happens, it happens. Tbh I just don't like kids... They're messy & well it's a ton of work. Plus I have some pre-existing medical issues; wouldn't want to go through hoops to maintain a pregnancy. And all my ex's, as well as any guys I may have dated once or twice have never made me once consider carrying their child for any reason

My mom had me on her 3rd year of university. So I’m in the awkward middle cousins are either way older or wayyyy younger.

I never babysit but whenever all the grandchildren are at my grandmother’s house I really don’t like spending time with the little ones.

So we’ll see in the future but I don’t think I’m warm enough towards children to have them. I don’t want to be a cold mother.
