You could always say something vague (I.e. compatibility , vibes etc.)

Don't tell them, because they will just pretend to be your type for the honeymoon phase.

It's a lazy question. Ask me about my interests, opinions, hobbies, goals, and memories (HVM will be curious about these things). But they ask what type of man you like because it's a short cut to behaving in the way you want him to, even if he's not your type, so you'll sleep with him. Easier than a real conversation, it tells him exactly what he needs to do in bullet points.

I say I don't have a type. If they push I act confused and ask if they're talking about ex's, and explain I don't discuss past relationships on dates.

I might even be a bit glib if a guy asked me this, “what do you mean by type?” or “are there predetermined type options in the VIP package?”

If a guy asks me something that doesn’t feel easy (TRUST YOURSELF, queen!), he’s gonna’ get either a test or a difficult answer back that shows him he has to work harder.

Guys who ask that question are usually not my type, too. What about you?

Do not ever tell a man your type. You don’t owe him that kind of prying info. He is auditioning for YOU. Do you ever ask a potential employer what type of employee they’re looking for? No. You sell your strengths and hope that’s what they’re looking for.

One of the best responses to this that I’ve seen suggested on FDS is “I’ll know it when I see it.” I see two other members have actually already recommended this, but I’m going to reiterate it because I really do think it’s the best way to handle it.

My ex once asked me this after we had consummated and were like 2-3 months in and I had wondered why and I had to answer him honestly “Everything you do except live with their ex”. Keep in mind he was still kinda love-bombing me and I was putting up with what little crap he was showing me at the time.
