I personally believe they self sabotage themselves, cause deep down they know no girl will like them (cause their whole personality is hating themselves and assume others won't like them)

Even if the most beautiful woman was to show interest in them, they'd still find something to 'dislike' and make others - mostly themselves- believe she's not his type, cause they have such low self-esteem and confidence

And even if the one In a million scenario happens, where a woman is dating them and is actually liking them, they'd still self sabotage the whole thing

Cuz they’re consistently shown by society that their looks don’t matter and they deserve attractive women. See Charlotte and Harry of SATC, the Flintstones, any family sitcom, any teen or stoner movie from 2008 back, etc. Hell if you go on the incel subs those ugly fuckers complain about ugly women being the only girls they can catch. And could you blame them? They’ve been raised to believe their looks don’t matter whilst also believing that only attractive women deserve attraction.

Against my will, I was once subjected to an obese guy’s 10 minute explanation of the kind of “hip flare” he prefers on a woman. Basically, the guy was nitpicking about where a woman’s hips were the widest (i.e., at the top of the pelvis versus lower down) and citing celebrities as examples. The man was around 350lbs+ and could not get any woman let alone one with whatever “hip flare” he was referring to, lmao! I wonder if it’s a type of fantasy thinking they use as cope.

It's pure misogyny. They hate women for being so "mean, slutty and shallow", which in turn is a projection of their hatred towards themselves. They're frustrated because "good girls won't give them a chance", so they act like they weren't that good to begin with, as s coping mechanism. Twisted and gross.

From personal experience I’ve thought it was because they are insecure. That causes them to project their insecurities and end up sabotaging their own chances and possibilities.

Like they think “I’m too ugly to be loved, so that’s why I want someone who’s attractive.”

It’s simple, what one can’t be with in themselves is exactly what one can’t be with in others.

Weird, but enlightening, right?

Whatever that shallow man is seeing in others is the same type of judgment that he puts on himself but hides from.

He knows he’s ugly and fat and hates it so much. This causes so much dissonance inside him that his brain needs to give him an out, he can’t hate himself and survive, so his brain lets him trick himself into thinking that he only hates those things in others.

An ugly and fat man attempts to disown that part of himself and projects that shallow world view from himself onto others.

The lens that’s used to view oneself colors what is perceived about others.

It’s subconscious and completely toxic.

Just gonna repeat what everyone else said. Projection, insecurities, our societies that make them believe that a man doesn't need to be attractive. In my country we have this saying :"a man needs to be more attractive than a monkey". So, as you can see, the bar is really low.

Of course, we exist to prove them wrong

I believe part of it is that they don’t see themselves the way other people do. In their own eyes they are amazing and deserve a beautiful women that cooks and cleans and all the other things a 1950’s housewife would do, while having a job themself. That is their birthright and they are denied that so they will try and date women that don’t live up to their ideals and resentment and bitter shallowness grows. Women don’t live up to their expectations cause they put the bar to high so they can keep being unsatisfied and blame women.
