Before I got into my last relationship, I had a flirty thing with a man I met at a convention that lives in a city 3 hours away from me. Actually the same city my ex lives in, go figure. Anyway we have reconnected in a way, started with chatting about a show we both like and him saying stuff like "yeah we should meet up some time so I can take you out in a date". I'm open to it but let him know he'd have to come to me, actually ask me out, etc etc. He was pretty cool & attractive but I don't have any interest in actively pursuing romantic relationships right now. But, if he wants to do the work I won't stop him.

Yesterday I went to his town with a girl friend of mine on a whim. We were both up early with nothing going on and we wanted to hit up some shops and see some sights that they don't have in our town so we made the drive. We stayed out there in a nice hotel and came back this morning. It was excellent. For safety reasons I don't "live post" about the things I do. I always share photos of my escapades when I'm in the comfort of my own home when it's all done.

So today I'm posting pics from our adventure and he DMs me almost immediately asking what I'm in town for and if I want to meet up while I'm there. I tell him this was all yesterday and also say I don't vibe with last minute plans (I really don't unless you're a really good friend, which my girl friend I went with is). He asks why I didn't hit him up while I was there.

I reiterate that I don't do last minute plans, and I was with my friend so why would I "hit up" a man when I'm spending time with someone else? This man said "I could have brought one of my friends for her and we could have all partied."

I just didn't respond. Is this what really goes through their minds? Not asking if my friend was single or saying he has a friend who wants to meet her or anything. Just "I could have brought a friend for her" as if my friend exists to be paired up with some random ass unvetted dude that I don't know. I also don't "party", and he knows this. Especially not on a Thursday night during a pandemic. Yuck.

Needless to say, I will not be "hitting him up" next time I'm in town. 😂
