My phone doesn't let me delete blocked numbers. I have to add them to contacts to block, blah.

Agreed.

The one dude from a few weeks ago, I kept second guessing myself even though once I thought long and hard he had too many orange flags. If I hadn't deleted him I'd definitely have moments where the urge could be too strong to reach out. I still feel ashamed about how easily I attached to some random just because he was 20% better than most. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

I go for the block, screenshot and delete. Because looking back on their audacity and evidence of their absolute worthlessness reminds me why I deleted🧐

I am fortunate enough that I haven't had the urge to go back with any man that I have removed from my life in over twenty years though. I'm old enough to remember just having to use a sharpie to black out their name in my telephone book😅

This is a good idea. I don’t really suffer from temptations to bring a scrote back into my life, but i do suffer from the temptation to find closure by contacting him and letting him know how much he sucks. Ultimately, this does nothing. He doesn’t care. He’s already pursuing a new girl who doesn’t know what a scrote he is yet. I have to give myself the closure i want. Because he never will. In fact, he’ll just get an ego boost out of it. Taking away his means of contacting you, and never contacting you again puts power firmly back in your hands. Because not only will you never respond to his attempts to contact you, you won’t even know he made them. And completely removing even the mention of him from your life is how you gain real closure

What a great reminder. I used to be guilty of that and contact some of the LVM I previously blocked when I was feeling very lonely. And guess what... It never turned out well and they would end up getting blocked again.

I’m good at deleting and never contacting exes after a break up, but I’ve had a bad habit of not blocking. Most of the time guys don’t reach out or I ignore them if they do, but my curiosity was too strong to eliminate the possibility.

Finally I blocked my last two exes and honestly, it’s been a huge relief. It doesn’t matter if they miss me or reach out or regret what they did or want to tell me they’re sorry. It doesn’t matter even if they give me the opportunity to ignore or reject them. It doesn’t matter. I’ve moved on and up. Instead of knowing they could return and haunt me unexpectedly, it’s as if they don’t exist anymore. It’s very freeing.

This is a part of why I deleted social media where I'm personally identifiable. I can't contact them and they can't contact me.
