I don’t believe this divide even exists. Almost everyone is capable of being both logical and empathic, many just choose not to be. It’s like when people say they’re a right brain person or a left brain person, usually corresponding to scientific or creative, like no that’s a myth and we all use both sides of our brains.

Since when is nurturing not logical?? Being able to care for a small child or pet requires so much focus, insightful decision making, and thoughtful planning. If you're illogical while caring for the child, then that child will get hurt or could even die. The false dichotomy between "logic" and nurturing makes me want to barf.

Yes I think it's the way we are socialised to be empathetic. When I left my last husband his excuse for being a shity husband was 'people are selfish' and I said 'well I'm going to be selfish from now on' and I have been and it's so liberating. I don't feel as much empathy for men anymore and wouldn't give them the benefit of the doubt like I used to. And I don't respect men unless they earn my respect. If women are naturally like that then we wouldn't be able to undo it like I am. I feel stronger than ever, mentally and emotionally! 💪

I think the whole thing is a stereotype..I find men, in general, to be a lot more emotional. Thats just my personal experience though, and taking into account opposites attract, it makes sense I end up being around and notice men like that cause Im about as emotional as a brick wall.

Its just not a surprise to me though if I see a guy get frustrated over something, he'll get defensive and angry and all emotional over it. Meanwhile, if Im frustrated, I go deep into thought, and lost in my mind trying to figure things out. Im all about whats logical and I love to learn something new even if it means accepting I wasnt right. I value information over my ego. I dont find that to be the case with a lot of the guys Ive been around where they act like being wrong about something is an attack on their intelligence and it doesnt matter what the facts are, will refuse to admit they didnt know something.

I seriously dont think we're catching up to guys ability to think logically, we're dealing with the guys ability to "say anything with confidence and people will think youre right" vs taking time to communicate and consider what actually is the best course of action. The first one comes off as taking charge with confidence, the second one comes off like indecision and being unsure. But just cause it comes off that way, doesnt mean theres any merit to it.

The only people who keep drilling men are logical and women are emotional are men. Dont believe the lies...if you need any proof, challenge a guy on that idea and watch how fast he loses control over his emotions.

What a nonsensical divide! Why would someone be either nurturing or logical? These are not opposites? They aren’t even interdependent... it’s like saying you can be either left handed or chubby. Men don’t have a monopoly on reason or logic, just because they’re not taught empathy.

Do you know about the studies that document correlation between reduced gray matter in the prefrontal cortex (the part of your brain that controls rational decision making among other skills!) and viewing sexually explicit images? (And guess which sex does that!!!)

I don’t think this is real because we actually know that great female scientists and mathematical exists when we were basically being used a sex slaves and incubators.

Those woman just happened to be of higher society, where they were allowed to choose paths and study with scholars. I think again the “ 1%” got to live a completely different life while perpetuating a worse one.

Examples

Émilie du Châtelet; while born to lesser nobility; her father still worked for King Louis XIV. She was a philosopher and mathematician

Ada Lovelace; born to a lord and lady, specifically Lord Byron. Yes that lord Byron, leading poet during the Romantic movement. She was a mathematician and is generally believed to have made the first “computer”

I do believe those woman faced their own challenges but clearly it wasn’t “you aren’t allowed to study because you’re a lady and it would hurt your head”

Clearly scholars, their own fathers and other people in their academia believed in them and worked with them
