In a few of the comments you can see some people (myself included) making the argument that the reason many men take casual friendliness as flirtation. Is because they're completely and utterly starved for it.

yes, you can vaguely explain some of the differences but to somebody who hasn't experienced both it's going to seem indistinguishable.

no. this arises because a lot of younger men have no clue what genuine flirtation/interest looks like.

other men can't teach us that.
