I’m a centrist and all of the political subversion is sickening to me. I hate the fact that a President can be impeached for suggesting an investigation into alleged corruption (Trump) or that one can get impeached for lying about a blowjob (Clinton).
Nixon, on the other hand, was a colossal piece of shit who would have been removed from office because of his misdeeds. I wish these folks would quietly retire but how are they going to command millions of dollars a year in speaking engagement fees by going away.

History records Bill Clinton as actually having been impeached in the house of representatives for perjury and obstruction of justice.
Impeachment in and of itself doesn't mean removal from office. The senate determines that. Though most on both sides agreed his behavior was wrong, they didn't believe it warranted removal from office. But he was indeed impeached.

The problem with Clinton is he was being sued for sexual harassment and the prosecutors had a list of women that he had either had affairs with or had attempted to pressure into affairs, and they wanted to basically establish that he was a predator. They decided to open the case to the grand jury with Monica Lewinsky because she was young and it was the most recent - hence the most pertinent. When Clinton lied, the grand jury threw the case out. The reason this is a problem, and the reason for his impeachment, is that his lying prevented Paula Jones from having her day in court (the grand jury was just like a preliminary hearing which would have then moved the case before an actual judge/jury) - and this violated her Seventh Amendment right.
Sorry for the long response, but I think you can see how the media absolutely spun the coverage to influence people into believing it was all "just" about oral sex to protect a Democrat.

The problem with Nixon was the coverup. He didn’t do the crime, wasn’t even aware of the act until after the fact. Very different than Clinton. What Clinton did happens to executives all the time ( they’re banging their maids, secretaries, subordinates), and without question the board of directors fires them in short order or they resign unceremoniously. Bottom line, Congress has better things to do that this. Passing a budget, fixing family law, and finding other solutions to major issues should be at play.

Unfortunately, even though the so-called Patriot Act is unconstitutional, it has lead to illegal spying by NSA, FBI and the rest. It has also lead to warrantless searches and no-knock entries which have resulted in innocent people being murdered by the police.
The Patriot Act was a knee-jerk reaction to 9-11 and just like many government programs, it's gone way beyond it's intent in terms of the erosion of our rights.

To be fair, unemployment isn’t the issue. It is jobs that are worth a damn. We also ignore a large number of people who are unemployed to make the numbers look far better then they really are (and to cover up the massive number of prime age men being unemployed issue).

If you can cite one piece of Trump policy or legislation he championed that has had a direct positive impact on unemployment, I'd reconsider. Real unemployment is a lagging/trailing economic indicator, meaning it takes several years for it to be impacted by fiscal/monetary policy.

It's more that he cut a ton of pointless and needless red tape regulations very early on in his presidency, which is exactly what needed to happen as a small business owner. Stock market and consumer confidence has arguably not been higher in 50 years which is the non-quantifiable element in the equation. No new legislation, but removing the pointless stupid bullshit that was in our way in the first place (95% of which was introduced by the Obama and the left) is what I voted him in for and so far he has delivered in spades. I can now pay my employees 10% more, provide them full time hours with healthcare and benefits, massive 401k jumps for each of them that had them before and availability to those who didn't have it before due to full time employment, an extra 2k bonus at the end of the year each, and business has never been better due to people spending money.
I made sure to tell them recently that all of their new found goodies were only possible because of Trump's presidency and I always wanted this for them in the first place, but the numbers just couldn't get there due to our incompetent and retarded congressmen and former president. Vote accordingly. I'm pretty sure they all got the message.

Interest rates don't indicate the health of the economy. Rates are reduced by the federal reserve in an attempt to increase inflation.
Economic indicators include, but are not limited to: Unemployment (currently lowest since 1960 at 2.5%), wage growth (strongest since 1973), reduction in trade deficit, high consumer confidence, high consumer spending, high corporate earnings, rising stock market, etc.
Lowering of interest rates doesn't mean the economy is performing poorly, it just means the fed board wants inflation to be higher so they can get richer. Inflation is a hidden tax on the poor.

I will preface my comment by stating that I vote republican, and that I did not vote for Obama either time he was on the ballot.
I will say that I am proud that - as a country - we were able to elect Obama. The fact that in slightly more than a century after Lincoln ended slavery that an African American was able to be elected to our highest office shows the almost unique resilience and flexibility of our democratic form of government. Look at the history of many other countries and cultures across the world over the centuries and you can see how unusual this is.
I did not vote for him, and agreed with very few of his policies, and thought that a number of his actions and words made the division between our parties and ethnicities worse. I truly feel sad about the last part, as he had such possibilities in that area that I felt were squandered.
