100 years ago sure. If you married someone and had kids with them. You were responsible for them but the kids were YOURS by default and if your wife cheated on you people would actually LOOK DOWN ON HER and divorce wasn't really a thing.

Both sides got something so it was a decent contract.

Now you agree to take care of her, and have kids with her and she can leave you whenever and take the kids and you still have to take care of them and if anything people look down on you for your family breaking up because women are saints.

The brutal ways alimony and child support are calculated force a lot of guys to start businesses or work in industries that are cash based. I am not unreasonable but I’m not going to give away 66% of my gross pay between taxes and the ex. I am well off but that just isn’t going to happen. My kids will never do without but my ex rode the gravy train for 18 years already... she doesn’t get to ride it for life.

I know it's possible for a woman to get alimony, but I've never heard of it being granted. There's a mountain of requirements.

Some countries even have caps on allimonies for kids, so the trick with getting a shitload of money for yourself because you had two kids with a banker won't work.
