In essence, DuckDuckGo uses the search data Google provides. Unlike Google, however, Duck doesn't pre-process the data according to (what it thinks) user wants to see (or has to see). I.e. it doesnt "search bubble" you.

Google's algorithm must take words like "white woman" and automatically apply a racial context instead of just a physical description. They've probably determined that's the more popular intended context when people search. Typing "happy white man" got me pictures of white guys with black girls too.

The point is there is obvious manipulation in search results when the the top dozen pics for “happy white woman” are mostly white women with black men, but the same trend doesn’t exist for white men, black women, black men, Asian women, Latino women, etc. Meanwhile, duck duck go has no similar algorithmic accident, proving that it’s not some interesting combination of article titles or movie names or whatever that give us this result.
If you’d like to know why google is manipulating search results in this way I suppose you’d have to ask them. I suggest you start with: “Why does google think white women need black men in order to be happy?” Idk. Seems pretty misogynistic at the very least.
