[–]Jcart1050 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Being fat isn't necessarily about age, more so a lack of self-control and laziness. Ageing usually refers to how fast their skin ages in the sense of wrinkles, crows feet, uneven skin tone, sagging skin etc.
I’d say Indian women age pretty well, but Asians probably age the best from what I’ve observed.
[–]Nkazio-1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I wouldn't agree that being Fat is generally about a lack of self-control and laziness. It's been proven that 'self control' as we imagine it is virtually impossible for 95 percent of the population, because fast-food, a sweet drink, sugar in general and other shit are way too readily available. Technically, if you count all the adverts you see on TV, on the street, the actual products in your grocery store, and so on, you run past 100-200 adverts for unhealthy shit in a single day.
Not to mention that most foods you buy are virtually devoid of any vitamins and valuable ingredients. You're literally eating packaged, nutrient empty trash unless you get your groceries directly from a farm.
So you can split the blame about 50/50 on fat people. Sure, a part of the responsibility is always with them, but in larger parts it's also the markets that provide us with no nutrient worthy food whatsoever (while also pricing out the actually healthy things at a price rage the average, poor person can't afford. I.E Cheap Soda being Cheaper then proper Fruit Juice, etc).
Infact, anybody who has thoroughly studied nutrition, and your 'optimal' values in terms of vitamins, what is necessary and how to establish a good meal plan to cover all vitamins will tell you that you need a really good wallet to actually feed yourself 'optimally'.
[–]Jcart1050 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I actually don't believe in free will, but unless the topic is specifically determinism and free will — I just assume free will exists as most other people do for the sake of argument.
I'm regards to the rest of your comment, I'm not sure what you mean by optimally. And even though I'm inclined to disagree, I don't know enough about nutrition/food science to really say. Nevertheless, if we're talking about just being lean — or simply just not fat — I don't think it requires any significant amount of "willpower" to do that, since all you really need to do is cut calories.

And health and looks are symbiotic, especially as you age.
[–]Nkazio0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Yes, through fat (aka overeating).
The point he was trying to make is, you said it's a 'Myth'. It's not. Take an Average Man and an average Woman, with average, working lifestyles. The Man will age better then the Woman will.
Val Kilmer in this example would be a huge outlier because he's let himself severely go prior to cancer (Fat as fuck) and ofcourse, after cancer you can't use him as an example because, well, cancer. It's a shit show that you're not really responsible for, and it wreaks havoc on your body, especially if surgery is involved.
[–]frankwashere440 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link
No he won't, it's a myth and nobody has evidenced it. Women have naturally better skin than men, for one. People just believe this because a) male propaganda, and b) women drop much more because they're attractive in their peak, and c) youth is more correlated with attractiveness for women. Men don't age better, people just care less about their looks.
Seems there's a lot of old guy copers on this sub, thinking they can be physically attractive into their 30s and 40s lol. 90% of women and almost all attractive women in their 20s have zero interest, and zero physical attraction for, guys 35+. You live in an alternate reality if you believe anything other.
Getting fat is a part of ageing. Do you know what % of people get fat as they get older? Do you know what % of people eat processed food? What % of people get too much Sun? Don't uphold a vigorous exercise regimen? Skin regimen? Endure stresses? Get sick? All a part of ageing.
[–]Nkazio0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
To be honest your whole coping routine makes it seem like you're one of the Incel folk or missed the 'get your shit together' train yourself.
It's not coping to know that you raise your attractiveness keeping in good shape, having status and well put together assets. For most Men, this doesn't become the case until they're around 30-40. It takes 10 years to build a great physique, 10 years of applying yourself in a field before you're overly proficient in it, etc. Sexually speaking, Women are sex objects, Men are Status-/Success-Objects. Your looks as a Man matter to the degree that they signal good genetics and Status, and a well kept body is in itself a status object.
I'd rather argue it's a form of coping to bitch and moan about the unfairness of aging/looks/etc and think that this somehow frees you from the responsibility of owning up to your own shit and applying yourself to life.
Also, I'd argue that anyone making up statistics on the fly is the one living in an 'alternate' reality lol. '(90% of women and almost all attractive women in their 20s have zero interest, and zero physical attraction for, guys 35+). Really? Where'd you pull this 'statistical' evidence from?
Not to mention that none of that is ground breaking. Yes, the 'overly attractive' folk, aka people in the top 10 percent tend to go for the other people in the top 10 percent. Life is also easier for them in certain aspects, because society values sex-appeal. I don't see how that relates to 'coping'.
[–]frankwashere440 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
What's my coping routine? How does anything I've said make me feel better? I'm a 32 year old suicidal virgin.
For most Men, this doesn't become the case until they're around 30-40. It takes 10 years to build a great physique
lol. No. It takes 6 months to attain the optimal male physique. Which is low BF, with a bit of muscle mass and broad shoulders. That's women's preferred physique. Most women don't like big muscles. And if you're spending 10 years to build it lol, while your face decays all the while. Male attractiveness = face.
Women are sex objects, Men are Status-/Success-Objects. Your looks as a Man matter to the degree that they signal good genetics and Status, and a well kept body is in itself a status object.
lol. Warren Farrell didn't exist in the Tinder age. Women are primarily attracted to young, good looking guys. Same as men are attracted to young, good looking women. But men prefer bodies while women prefer face. If you want to compare the respective SMVs of a GL 22 year old with a 40 year old with a "great physique" and ££, make a Tinder account for each and compare success rates lol.
Truth is truth. I don't care about what follows from it. If you want to tell yourself lies to make it easier to bear existence, that's fine.
Life experience + larping online with GL guys. Young people live in their own bubble. Women like guys 1-5 years older. 24 year old hotties aren't sending nudes to 40 year old ogres with nice trucks lol.
Not to mention that none of that is ground breaking. Yes, the 'overly attractive' folk, aka people in the top 10 percent tend to go for the other people in the top 10 percent.
That isn't how it is though. 80% of women go for the top 10% of men, and the top 10% of men can plough their way through them all. Not sure how old you are, but you have no idea how much things have changed regarding female hypergamy and sexual liberation. I'm 32 and don't recognise this world. Girls and GL guys can order sex any time they choose on Tinder.
[–]Nkazio0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I'm 29, so generally speaking we're from the same Generation.
Neverminding the fact that my experiences are vastly different from what you are describing, I would also never use my 'personal experience' as a hallmark for anything. I'm too scientifically rooted for that. For a quick example; If you grow up in a poverty stricken Ghetto, chances are you will only ever get to see that type of 'social' setting. Poor people with various mental afflictions and criminal tendencies. That doesn't make the entire world a violent place, nor does it make every Man a potential criminal.
You're pretty much using the same type of Argument for your own position, just instead of using a 'poor social' experience, you're using 'poor SMV' experience. Hence why it's skewed.
You also dramatize the looks in each example. Ofcourse, no young woman wants an 40 year old 'ogre'. But a young girl will certainly go for a good looking, fit 40 year old. And there are plenty of those out there who have their 'shit' together, are financially secure and so on. Infact, Instagram is flooded with these type of guys. Alot of Martial artists are also pushing 35-40 and most of them have zero issues scoring women, and none of them win in the 'genetical face/looks' department. Alot of them infact look like ogres, as you described. You just don't see these guys around or being advertised as 'sex objects/models' because that's not the marketing niche they're used for. Reality is not what Media and TV peddle to you. Reality is not celebrity couples.
As for your Warren Farrell and 'Tinder Age' analogy. Warren Farrells Ideas and concepts hold true today still because they're rooted in biology. There also is no 'Tinder Age'. The same way there never was a 'Clubbing Age', or a 'Disco Age', or a 'Bar Age'. People Date and get together through various means historically, and always have.
You 'present' yourself towards the other Sex with your best qualities, they do aswell, and then you choose. On Tinder, the ONLY thing you can present is your appearance through a Photo. That's literally it. That's all the 'Status' information a Girl can get from you on Tinder, your profile pic. So ofcourse, not only are you going to lose against the most handsome Men on Tinder, You're a literal Idiot if you try to compete on Tinder unless you have some seriously good genetics and looks. Women are hard-wired to pursue the 'best possible' mate in their vicinity. That's not going to be you on Tinder.
Now, and pay attention; That does NOT mean that
A: The entire sexual market revolves around Tinder, B: The only way to date or fuck Women is through Tinder. C: The only way for you to present yourself to the world is through Tinder.
Now, back to your '80 percent of Women go for the top 10 percent of Men'. They do and they don't. Women don't know what the fuck they want. On Tinder, ofcourse, none of them are going to pick an average looking dude. In Real life however, given the right circumstances, the 'average' guy might be exactly the 'bad boy' she's looking for, because he's a full blown degenerate that triggers her daddy issues.
And People using Tinder is nothing to be envied. It's as pathetic as speed dating. You find attraction out there in the social world, not by presenting yourself like a fucking advertisement.
[–]frankwashere440 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm too scientifically rooted for that
lol. I've read countless studies and they all confirm my life experiences. I've also been good looking and unattractive. They're alternate realities. Stating that women are attracted to facially good looking young men is just like stating that gravity exists.
Ofcourse, no young woman wants an 40 year old 'ogre'.
Anyone who has a physique that took 10 years to construct is an ogre. You can only be talking about bodybuilder bulk, which, again, most women don't even like. It's preferable to being fat and out of shape, but isn't desirable to most women, unless halo'd by an attractive face. Which gaining bulk undermines, as low BF and slim build maximises facial attractiveness.
But a young girl will certainly go for a good looking, fit 40 year old.
lol. There are always anomalies and minorities, but no, generally, young girls are disgusted at the thought of going out with or fucking a 40 year old. Unless they're gold digging, he has ultra-status, or is a unicorn who has aged supremely well.
eg. you wanted "science", https://www.menshealth.com/sex-women/a19540394/age-preferences-for-sex-partners/
The average 35 year old woman, the oldest guy she'd fucked was 38 lol.
As for your Warren Farrell and 'Tinder Age' analogy. Warren Farrells Ideas and concepts hold true today still because they're rooted in biology.
lol. The paradigm 2000 year old Warren is using is of marriage and procreation, how does that apply to mgtows? The model is informative but it's been semi-destroyed, and continues to be more so with each passing year. I've explained how and why in previous posts. Women are now almost completely sexually liberated. And they have much less practical need for men to even do the settling down thing. They have the state, into which men pay taxes. When I was a teenager, the term "FWBs" existed only on Sex & The City, casual sex was a thing but it wasn't formalised and socially overt. Polyamory certainly wasn't a thing lol. The power that young women wield, and GL men, is extraordinary. They aren't looking at 40 year old men.
On Tinder, the ONLY thing you can present is your appearance through a Photo.
Because that's all that matter lol. Why else would women use it? When looking for sex, appearance is the #1 factor. The paradigm has changed. Dating used to lead to sex and a relationship. Now sex leads dating and a relationship.
A: The entire sexual market revolves around Tinder
No, Tinder informs the sexual market, though, along with other "dating" websites, snapchat, etc. Nudes are currency these days.
Women don't know what the fuck they want.
They do, the just don't like to say it. They largely want the same thing men want. A good looking partner.
You're 29, so maybe you still believe that you age like a King and you can be George Clooney into your 50s. Or maybe you've just exited your youth (which ends at 27, btw) and are coping somewhat. Or maybe you had no looks to lose. But time destroys everything, so prepare yourself.

Schopenhauer: 'With girls, Nature has had in view what is called in a dramatic sense a “striking effect,” for she endows them for a few years with a richness of beauty and a, fulness of charm at the expense of the rest of their lives; so that they may during these years ensnare the fantasy of a man to such a degree as to make him rush into taking the honourable care of them, in some kind of form, for a lifetime—a step which would not seem sufficiently justified if he only considered the matter. Accordingly, Nature has furnished woman, as she has the rest of her creatures, with the weapons and implements necessary for the protection of her existence and for just the length of time that they will be of service to her; so that Nature has proceeded here with her usual economy. Just as the female ant after coition loses her wings, which then become superfluous, nay, dangerous for breeding purposes, so for the most part does a woman lose her beauty after giving birth to one or two children; and probably for the same reasons.'

The thoughts of an influential 19th century philosopher on women. Given the historic period, the opinion on women is not super surprising.
However, even though noone today would put it in those words, even today women are considered to lose their looks earlier. Look at the age distribution of sexiest man alive and sexiest women alive. The people list for men had ages between 27 and 69 with an average around 36. The esquire had only two sexiest women 40+ with the oldest being 42. The average is closer to 30. Looking at the Maxim hot 100, among the first 25 only 2 have an age over 35.
No matter what you think of today's beauty standards, fact is that today's beauty standards have a stronger agree bias for women.

They all are on something, i used to go to TKD when younger with this girl she was hot we had a party one time she dressed as cat women, flash back 2009 she messages me out of the blue on facebook, was not sure who she was.. she then told me she was on depression pills etc and she gained like 80 pounds... its insane what does drugs do to people.
[–]jamocadyn2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (30 children) | Copy Link
Funny you should mention TKD...I was at my sons' TKD tournament a few years ago (I was 47 or 48 at the time), when this woman I thoroughly didn't recognize came up to me and hugged me and spoke to me like she knew me. I literally had to ask who she was. In fact, it was a woman I had dated (and banged) back in the mid-90s (when she was in her early 20s). Second story occurred back in 2010 (44 at the time). I had just come back from Afghanistan and a woman came up to me and says "My God, 'Jamocadyn" you haven't aged!" I look at her for a really long time and she finally says her name. It was a woman I had gone through basic officer training (we were in the same platoon) back in 1985 and attended RMC for FOUR years (literally saw her every day). Did not recognize her at all--the thing that tipped me off that I should have known her was her voice which hadn't changed...but the last time I saw her was in '89 when we graduated.
[–]kayfab0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link
Good to see your son in TKD i had a few kids i coach and loved it, when they won i felt really good. Its amazing how women change, i am 46 i changed too i gained a lot of weight losing it right now, but my face is not nearly banged up like the women i see.
Its sad because most people today take all those drugs(cholesterol, high blood pressure, thyroid, diabetes, anti depressant, and so on), there is a guy at my job 56 he lost 80 pounds last year kept it off, and cut all the drugs he was taking he looks really good.
All those damn drugs the doctor give people have so many side effects its insane.

I have a strange feeling that in countries with socialized medicine...the government's policy is to make sure that a person dies shortly after his usefulness (doesn't have an income to tax anymore) to society is over. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-06-20/googles-artificial-intelligence-can-predict-your-death-95-accuracy

[–]sh0t0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
I appreciate your suspicion, but one counter example to bring up would Otto von Bismarck, who explicitly wanted older people around on social security to be useful dependent voters. Similar to how AARP operates today.
[–]jamocadyn1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago* (7 children) | Copy Link
And how did that work for Bismarck? And thank you for the well-thought out, historical response you gave-- absent ad hominem attacks about me being stupid for my suspicions of socialized medicine. Was it Holland or Belgium which executed/euthanised otherwise physically healthy people who were suffering from depression? https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-06-20/googles-artificial-intelligence-can-predict-your-death-95-accuracy
[–]sh0t0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
In Herr Otto's case, he got everything he wanted. The US Social Security Administration considers him their ideological grandfather:
https://www.ssa.gov/history/ottob.html
The scale tips in favor of whether they need to save money on outlays or if they need that huge voting block of senior citizens. Currently that tug-of-war is playing out in different ways across the world. the Austerity and counter movements in southern Europe as one example. In the US, the it can be summed up as the lampooned phrase: "Keep your government hands off Medicare!"
[–]jamocadyn1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I'm just thinking of the huge Boomer demographic (in Canada and the USA) that will be hitting the hospitals and long-term care facilities in the next twenty years or so. The leading edge of that demographic (born in 1946) is 72--the largest bump of that demo was born in 1964 and they're hitting their mid-50s. Once the hospitals and long-term care facilities are over-whelmed, and the government debt becomes unserviceable...Well let's just say governments are used to taking the easiest way out. By the way, here in Canada, the cheapest old-age homes cost $1500/mo and the most expensive $6000. How many people can afford $1500/mo ($18000/yr) 15 to 30 years after retirement? If an unfortunate fellow runs out of money in year 25 what happens?
[–]Bromlife-1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

[–]jamocadyn1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]Bromlife0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Except if you had any actual experience of socialised medicine you would see that it aims to keep people alive for as long as it possibly can, far longer than it should. There’s no “secret pro-killing geriatrics” policies in place. Hence, your feelings are fucking stupid and obviously borne of ignorance of anything other than the American medical system.
[–]jamocadyn0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Well, I live in Canada and have done so since the age of 8. If you aren't aware, Canada's medical system is fully socialized with the exception of some cosmetic procedures. Canada even pays for gender-reassignment surgery. Was it in Holland or Belgium that state doctors euthanized (executed) physically healthy people who were suffering from depression? https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-06-20/googles-artificial-intelligence-can-predict-your-death-95-accuracy

It's called health care, and the rest of the world laughs at America for being so retarded about it.
[–]jamocadyn1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
It happens in Canada. Parliament recently passed a law giving a person the right to "die with dignity". So, it begins. First, you will have to request it. Then your family will have the right to request it (but only in cases where the person cannot make an "informed decision"--it'll start out okay...but this can go south really fast). Then your doctor can request it...then some faceless bureaucrat will be able to decide it based on a "scientific-based" SOP. Wait for it.

[–]UrethraFrankIin1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
My parents are 60 and 65 and they look fantastic. Dad still picks up 30ish year old girls because he looks 45 and my mom gets hit on at the beach because she looks 40. It's rare but if you eat well, exercise, and have great jobs that keep the greater stresses of life at bay you age like ol' Tommy here. That said, my dad also has great skin because of his natural Italian skin oil and mom always used facial moisturizer.
[–]frankwashere44-1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Post pics and I guarantee that nobody would agree. A few things. "30ish year old girls" isn't a thing. Of course anomalies exist, and of course people can look good for their age. That isn't the same as being attractive. The vast majority of 30 year old women aren't interested in 45 year old men, let alone 60 year old men who look 45. The naturally tanned, mediterranean skin type does often age great. Look at Jose Mourinho, Johnny Depp, etc.
Cruise looks great because of cosmetic surgery, and because he has a personal chef who goes everywhere with him. Plus a favorable skin type and dedication, and an easy life. Although film sets are pretty stressful, and entail long hours. I just can't bear people underestimating the surgery component.

I understand why you'd try to shut me down because it prevents you from feeling contradicted
No it doesn't. Anecdotes are meaningless. I know people age well. There was a guy at my work who was in his 60s but looked great. His wife looked like his Mum. There was another older guy who worked on our department who looked old, had light duties, a hunched back. One day we found out the the young looking guy was older than the old decrepit dude. And no young women found him attractive lol.

gigacope. The agepill destroys all people equally. Women just have much more to lose, as they have insane SMV in their teens and twenties. Men have little.
[–]jonathino0012 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Not quite accurate. Mens SMV is based on our skillset, and therefore income. As we get older, we accumulate more experience, and therefore our SMV goes up.
[–]frankwashere441 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Nope. The small % of men who are good looking when young have insane SMV. Taking the term "SMV" literally, skillsets and incomes don't make a woman want to have sex with a man. Being physically attractive does. Being successful etc will make a woman more likely to have sex with you, but probably won't make her enjoy having sex with you.
A good looking 20 year old man has infinitely more SMV than a rich, "skilled" average looking man in his 30s. Looks and youth are the most valuable thing on the planet, for both sexes.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2346531/Revealed-Women-really-likely-orgasm-theyre-attractive-man.html
Facial attractiveness makes a woman orgasm.
[–]jonathino0010 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Nope. The small % of men who are good looking when young have insane SMV.
And they have to also be charming enough to make that work.
I fail to see how that's the definition of SMV. Whether she's fucking you because you're hot, or because she wants your money is irrelevant. The fact is she's placing value on you in the social marketplace.
lol no they don't. Looks = personality, generally. You think a good looking guy has to be "charming" to slay? C'mon dude, that's some blue pill shit. Make a Tinder with a male model and see how easy it is.
Well, the "S" stands for sexual, not social. Women function differently. For guys, their social and sexual desires sort of run parallel. They want a young hotty because she's sexually desirable and because she's @ prime age to procreate. For women, an older, less physically desirable guy is better for procreating with, so they have to compromise and compartmentalise. So they usually spend their prime decade fucking GL guys then settle down with a sap. And in welfare countries they don't need the extra pay cheque anyway.

balding can't be helped much but remember patrick stewart is bald and considered very sexy by many women and he's in his 70s. You can also shave it off like Van Diesel. A lot of these women on the other hand age due to their poor choice of lifestyle
I agree except for the Patrick Stewart part. Women find "sexy" any guy who's already successful. I guarantee that "sexy" Hollywood men would be incels without their fame. Imagine Patrick Stewart as anything else than famous actor and he'd get avoided by women like the plague.

Queen bitch for a relatively few short years because she came out a lesbyan. It invokes a bit of horror story speculating what type of chemical stew lurks beneath the spare tire around beneath her waist.
This version of Tom Cruise was birthed from an alien pod located in an underground bunker in near Hemet, CA. But as they replicate him it adds years.

[–]MysticStryker0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hey this is the small dick sub right?
Wow his grandma was mildly attractive in '86
[–]NolanKnowstheTruth0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She will probably blame it on being raped when she was younger. You know toxic masculinity.

To be fair.. ol cruzy has had cosmetic surgery done... in saying that he definitely looks consistent with his younger self rather than the plastic look most women look like post-surgery

Well ... I'll be damned. Holy fucking shit, this actually checks out. I just double checked it. Best MGTOW advert ever. So that's what happens to a man when he doesn't get married!
I think we just solved immortality. Checkmate, transhumanists ... MGTOW got you beat.

[+][deleted] -6 points-5 points-4 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Lets be honest here fellas .. Tom Cruise isn't your average guy(human).
[–]JohnPerera2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
My dad and mom the same, they both same age 64, but I still running with dad every day morning for 3 KM but mom even can't walk a 1 KM.
[–]frankwashere44-2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yet women live 4-5 years longer than men.
It's almost like your Dad took better care of himself than your Mum, and your anecdote is meaningless.
[–]JohnPerera2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Women live more because married men suffer from their wives, even the wife is good type, the man has to work harder to feed the family and that stress and life risk makes men's life shorter. A lot Buddhist monks in our country lives over 80 years as they never get female bullshits.
[–]frankwashere442 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Women live more because their wellbeing is prioritised. They get a third more spent on their health. They don't do any hard jobs. And they're emotionally healthier and seek treatment more.
