It’s all relative. Notice how this is a cycle of modern life. It’s all fucked up. Women are just taking their chances most likely for the thrill, that they hope will transform into the colorful aroma we call love. Relationships take something called perseverance. No one gets that anymore. Perhaps we as a human race will never recognize this self sabotage due to our boredom and lust.

Same sort of thing happened to me, although I only suffered through 13yrs of marriage. She wanted to 'find herself' suddenly, was actually cheating in the background. Now she's stuck in the same house as before, it's falling apart as she doesn't care for it and has no money for repairs. Has absolutely no way of selling it up or moving so is stuck. She's quite the most messy person I've ever known, so it probably frightens off any potential men, as they can see just what she is after (bailout). Me on the other hand, just bought a 5 bedroom house for me (and my kids when they visit), loads of room for my hobbies. Enjoying life to the max.

My Dad is in a similar situation except he's still dealing with his feelings for my mother and it kills me that he can't snap out of it.

He's killing it, a handsome guy with life experience, great career, sense of humor, real respectful, can party or be a gentleman, very caring and is generous. He worked hard all his adult life raising me and my sister, working full time and cooking all our meals. He even raised my two half-sisters from my mom's earlier marriage and they all appreciate what he did for them and tell him he's way too good for someone like our mother.

My mom is physically a mess, broke, alcoholic, neglected me and my full-sister growing up, dim, and has a piece of shit felon-leech boyfriend. But she hangs around just enough to keep my dad on the emotional hook.

I really hope my dear ol' Pa can get to this point.
