I am a poor and minimalist mgtow. i make a couple dollars above min wage in my state (US) but get by. Despite my lack of funds i live ok. It's not hard for me; i'm used to doing without as I've never been remotely wealthy. It helps that i really don't value posessions save for my computers.

All of my furniture is second hand, all my clothes are old and worn.

I have not a cent to my name, just a little debt and besides selling drugs or robbing people I will never have enough money to buy a house or anything like that. Im ok with that. I have friends that get free money and what not, trust funds, inheritance, easy jobs that pay a lot for very little work put in, never me.

I've been passed on for better positions because there was a vagina possessing human applying for the same job. I can't get food stamps because I'm a single white male. No one gives me anything ever.

I will never get married, I would never even ask people to take a weekend out of their lives to come to my wedding. I hate these two people who invited me to their wedding because I did not want to go, they are divorced now.

I was forced to have a bar mitzvah(dumbest shit ever) when I was 13 and I wished I had that money now so I can buy a car.

I'm the luckiest person alive because I get to sit in this empty apartment and no one is actively trying to kill me. I lock the door at night. I do not exist.

If I was a female though this would be a tragic, sad tale. People would wonder why I wasn't married, they would probably give me money for food and clothing, take me out for dinners, offer me lodging if I needed it.

The moment I complain I'm a bad person. "You want a raise? hahaha"

People want it to be this way.

It doesn't matter how much money you make. If you're married, you'll be paying for her lifestyle, whether it's cheap or not.

Still, I think a man would be much more willing to live a minimalist lifestyle loooong before a woman.

I found religion, spirituality, the "path", whatever you want to call it. I think anyone, even an atheiat, could see things the same way, since it's logical imo. Happiness is a state of mind, not the result of having power, fame, wealth, status or any of the shit money can buy. It's not what most religious people think, which gives nonreligious people the wrong idea.

Maybe it was the result of being raised with plenty of money, but by feminists who abused me severely for being male. I had every video game console, always had a current computer, got a car when I turned 16 - and I was always absolutely fucking miserable. You don't get a much better lesson than that on the pointlessness of money.

I'm going to explore the Rocky Mountains this summer living out of my car. I'll see what happens from there. I may buy a small patch of land and put up a 10x10 foot cabin on it. I'm already aware of what I need to be truly happy (for me personally, solitude), and that it doesn't take money.

I make $13.50 CAD/hr. Each paycheck comes to just under $900. Even still, I manage to put away about $1000 a month.

Got no expenses except rent, food, gym membership, utilities. I live comfortably.

Yep, poor minimalist here too. Surprisingly (or not I guess) this still doesn't stop women who know that about you (and who even earn more than you) from feeling entitled to and trying to extract what little you have. Sometimes, I don't think they grasp the concept of a poor man. They just have to flash some cleavage and your wallet magically fills itself with money /s.

Lots of the guys are minimalist who hate the idea of even paying taxes. They'll buy/build them a nice little off-grid cabin and disengage from society. You won't see the posting on here for rather obvious reasons.

I desire simplicity, more than anything. I'd like to work 20 hours a week max. Minimal worries, minimal concerns.

Currently a student with a load of debt (yes shake your head and/or laugh) Dependent on relatives for survival. Not exactly poor but not rolling in cash either. All my work wages go school. But such is life in your 20s.

Right now unemployed, still studying. Living off the money I made from summer work, occasionally get money from doing art work, fixing computers etc. Still have some financial dependency from the family when it comes to pay for flat rent, but overall I'm doing ok. Even if I weren't MGTOW, having a girlfriend right now wouldn't even be a viable option financially and I just find it incompatible with my current lifestyle.

I'm a pharmacy student in his last year. I can be classified as "poor" and probably will be until I finish training and internship at least (still don't know the ropes around these things). I'm also minimalistic, I eat at about $5-6 AUD a day, don't eat out or go out anywhere (other than college and grocery shopping once a week), don't own/drive a car, shower once a week and use relatively little electricity (laptop, wifi, fans). I still get by perfectly fine.

I do pretty well for myself now but I still live frugally in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to my appearance, I won't buy expensive clothes, I wear old worn jumpers and have a fairly tatty appearance. I definitely don't look like someone who has money which is really handy because you get to see what people are really like.

And you know what, how men treat other men of little means is a lot fucking nicer than how women treat men of little means, women in general are extremely shallow. It's one of the reasons I respect men so much more than women.

Money isn't everything, you can live comfortably on your own off fairly small wage and I have done in the past on the way up the career ladder, money really hasn't brought me anymore happiness I just get to buy slightly nicer toys once in a while.

I made a lot of stupid decisions when I was blue pill like going to grad school and using credit cards way too much. So I'm trying to pay my student loans and debt off.

I got lucky on the job lottery and found something full time with benefits, so hopefully my situation will continue to improve.

I'm doing ok right now. Even with the debt/loans I'm living frugally and comfortably.

10 years ago i was pretty destitute. Had about 100 bucks to my name. I ended up working two jobs & went to trade school. The last 5 years have been great as I have earned & saved my cash but I still live a relatively minimalist existence. Being poor was a great line of defense against women who wanted to get married or have kids.

I was just a casual fling to these broads so they didn't think of me as a meal ticket. I remember falling asleep while a girl was giving me a blowjob. I had worked a 14 hour day and just finished a 6 day work cycle having probably put in 70 hrs. Her reaction was priceless!

I have more disposable income but my spending habits have generally stayed the same. I live within my means, always try to purchase things with cash up front & if i have to use a credit card I make sure to pay it off in a month. Quick tip to save money off the bat: Don't buy food from the coffee truck or Tim Hortons. Pack a lunch.

I make $55,000/yr which is decent to good for my area but most of it goes to bills and will continue to do so for the next 5-7 years. For now I live like I make $20,000. And you know what? I'm the happiest I have ever been and I have been in a two income almost 100k/yr home. I love the outdoors so I do lots of hiking, walking, running, exploring, outdoor workouts and campfires. I play tennis at local parks and I play my drums which I have had for years and therefore cost me nothing. I buy my video games second hand.

I guess being poor is relative/contextual and could depend on debts. I would never dream of calling 55,000 USD a year "poor", but I guess if I had to pay 30~60% in tax/vaginamoney/ child support/mortgage/debt then you bloody well could be poor!

Going through divorce and custody battle ( trying not to get cut out of my son´s life) has left me financially destroyed. absolutely to the ground. And I expect with lawyer´s fee for this to continue for the foreseeable future. I am leaving off my savings for the time being. And I also have to support my old parents who have no money and no retirement.

In some way it has even reinforced my conviction that MGTOW is the right path for me. Not only can I not afford to support a girl, but in my situation, every euro wasting on feeding Sushi & Wine to someone with the hope to get in bed with her is an absolute waste of time.

Going through financial hardship has even more pushed me in the MGTOW direction.

In hindsight I wished, I really wished, I had never EVER EVER EVER spent ANY MONEY on GIRLS. I am 45 y/o and I swear to god I could have bought maybe one or two studio appartment, and today could be living off their rents. Hope younger men here will learn the lesson.

What matters is your happiness. Some need expensive cars and houses and clothes to be happy and others dont. I am poor but there are things that make me happy and are free or cheap. So stay happy is all Im saying.

I'm relatively poor right now. Base salary of $25k/year and bonuses/OT which bring it up to around $32k/year. I have a decent sized chunk of debt which I'm grinding down.

Despite not having a lot of money, I live a minimalist lifestyle and am still able to save because of it. I hope to invest ~10k by the end of the year while still having ~10k in savings.

I guess I am not poor because I am not in poverty but I don't make a lot either I only make 54k usd a year(80065.85 Nzd a year) which is a average of 4500usd per month(6672.15 Nzd a month), it is perfect for a single bachelor but it would not support your average family of a bitch wife and spoiled kids. Btw I work odd hours 8am-5pm which is 9 hours a day 5 days a week. I've been trying to cut back on things like my video games and subscriptions to netflix and hulu

I live at home, paying cheap rent (200/month) while working part time and going to community college. Knowingly catching flack, I will admit I am seeing a female at the moment, however she pays for the both of us quite often on the rare time we go out for (cheap) food. Otherwise it is very relaxed and casual settings. I have plenty of free time to walk my two dogs, play pickup basketball with friends, go to concerts, bike ride, stream hockey games, and spend time online. Now, for the skeptics of having a relationship, I am not afraid to walk away if I have to commit more time and effort for this girl. (Not necessarily abundance mentality, but less dependent on vagina mentality).

Back to finances. We discussed in psych and exercise science classes that the max salary one can earn and achieve peak happiness sits at ~77k/year USD. In other words, you can make 6 or even 7 figures but on average will not objectively be any happier than the guy making $77,000. My own rationale for this correlation is that those making that much can usually afford better things but not everything, so material items still have sentimental value. Their job most likely isn't as strenuous or consuming as say, a hospital doctor or surgeon, and I assume have enough free time because of it. I think this also accounts for family, so if you add at least one dependent (spouse) plus around 1 to 3 children, 77k is as if you make 20-30k for yourself after expenses. So realistically speaking, I would rather make 30k/yr maximum but have it all to myself, than make the magical 77k/yr, but have child support, divorce court fees, and alimony sucking it away from me.

I'm 22 and destitute as in living with parents with only a monthly gym membership and stopped paying my phone bill atm. I personally would rather work hard for the next 25 years, have my money for myself and retire with a lifestyle I want. I.e. videogames, big boy toys, build my own house on a few acres to homestead, good healthy food, and sports cars.

i earn £35,000 a year. not poor but not rich. If i did the whole wife and kids thing i cannot imagine how restricted i would be. I would be non stop working and stressed, trying to support them. Add how women typically spend more than men and i would get extra spending pressures from her, it baffles me how these guys do it. not only do i not have to support them, i earn £7000 per year extra from the girl who rents my second bedroom. My freedom and opportunity is incredible and as a middle income earner, if i had a wife n kids, all that would be gone. the one existence i would ever have would be spent supporting the existence of other people who may very easily not value me at all. I was just at the pub, sitting in front of the log burning fire, eating a lovely meal and drinking a pint of beer (BECAUSE I CAN) when these women sat down and started bitching about their husbands not doing enough around the house. I'm not wealthy but not having those obligations makes me feel very rich.

About 5 years ago I was getting by on 20k a year no problem but I'm very minimalist. I got most of my stuff second hand or free but I did splurge on a sectional couch for like $1000 which was nice but far from what most furniture places charge for one. I'm not into flashy things so now I always put away money to do stuff with. Few years ago I went backpacking through Europe for 3 months in the summer and with penny pinching it ended up being fairly cheap. Last summer I spent the weekends driving to the mountains near here and hiking the trails. I value experiences more than owning something that has no meaning. I drive an older car that still runs fine. I remember people would ask "how can he live like that" but it was fine for me because my expectations feel so basic to me.

It was way more expensive when I was in a LTR, especially when I allowed myself to feel validated by spending money. I wouldn't call them gold diggers but it was more my own insecurity. I was simply not being true to who I was, I wasn't materialistic and somehow I was engaging in this weird process of being the only one spending any money in the relationship. Dating is just expensive with most North American women, you might get away with some cheapo dates but deep down they want wining and dining.
