Fuck, this hits close home. I'm always wondering if I'm doing enough for my sons as well. Only have them half time though, so it's difficult and I miss them. But I try to be as good a dad as I can be and they are good kids. They wanted to go somewhere far for a holiday. But I'm kind of broke and only scraped together enough cash to go on a bike and camping tour. I hope they'll grow up and realize that I'm doing the best I can but can't really give them everything even though I so much want to.

Compare this to that poor sap who's mother poisoned his dad against him by telling him that he left for another family, when in reality said cunt just made sure they couldn't contact + dad died.

Similar story with my dad. Mom left 3 kids for my dad to raise alone but died 4 years ago at 49 from brain cancer. I told him he did his job as a dad and that we would be fine with what he gave us. He passed away about 5 minutes after.

It just got Dusty in here. My kids are my life. They're such good boys and today I looked at them and realized how short life is. Just yesterday they were in diapers cuddling on the couch, now I can see them becoming young men. They're both strong and handsome and have wonderful personalities. My oldest said to me this morning "dad you're like a teacher to us". I explained to them that this world is hard and I want them to be prepared for whatever life throws their way.

I don't know if this is real or not, but I think it probably is.

I had both my parents; looking back, I wish I hadn't. My father was the sole earner for most of my life, and even then, he did 90% of the child-raising. Fucking amazing father. Amazing man. I've never met anyone who didn't like him... except my mother.

Bitch squandered a ton of his money, stopped him from progressing in his career, and spent a year openly fucking another man. My father waited, took that hit, because otherwise my sister would've been too young, and would've ended up in my mother's clutches.

My mother is trash. And now, she wonders why we all hate her. My father is awesome. I doubt he kept a diary like in the OP's story, but if anyone is going to be doing that, it's gonna be a man. Women would never be that thoughtful about another person.

My Dad worked 7 days a week for an unloving mentally ill wife, my half sister, (he adopted her and raised her like his own) and myself.

He took an occasional Saturday off to take me fishing. maybe once a month. Twice he coached my softball and little league team. (He was a fantastic baseball player and coach) We won our leagues both times he did that. It was a big drain on him to do so. She died of Cancer before he did. He took care of her and loved her till her last breathe. If rolls were reversed she would have abandoned him.
