While this is true, I think the ultimate motto of MGTOW should be one of positivity, because going your OWN way should be a positive. I get negativity is fun and there are growing problems as a society but I think as Mgtow brothers we need to all adopt a more positive outlook on the world instead of focusing on the negative. Especially since it’s the new year. Fully expecting downvotes but as someone who tries to be Mgtow AND positive, I’d like to see this change

Pretty spot on here. It's funny that my last serious relationship started to immediately decline right around the 2010 mark when Facebook and a smartphone started becoming a big part of her life. She wanted "to go on trips" out of state without me, started making friends with her FB buddies (and hanging out with them IRL, some of them being dudes) and going out and about on her own (drinking). There was outright disrespect and talking down to me and my hobbies out of nowhere. I can only imagine the shit she pulled behind my back but I'm happy it came to an end without any major consequences involving marriage, kids, etc.

The biggest question is that I'm just not sure if this "social media era" is a blessing or a curse.

My predictions for 2020 are on par with the plot of Deus Ex. In fact, there's already quite a few parallels, with corporations and the elite controlling the freedom of speech and expression and with mass media controlling the minds.

The future is bleak, and I don't think it will be anywhere as cool as in Blade Runner or Total Recall. Think more like Demolition Man, but in a slum with murder and violence around every corner without the media ever acknowledging the actual state of affairs.

One thing to note, the 2010s has been mostly good economic times. For most of Western world, countries are currently undergoing the longest expansion in economic history (12 years) without a correction. However, a reset (after this late melt up) is coming in this decade. The 2020s will be biblical!

Much of this tweets' assertions may have been different with a natural correction or pullback that central banks and indebted nations did not let happen. Hard times may not have had us addicted to dating/social apps posing fake scenes, watching fake reality TV, thirsting online or offline, building insane egos.
