After my last post, i felt shit on (rightfully so).I took some time to analyze myself and my attitude. I saw that I failed to take responsibility for myself, and that I've been dishonest with myself starting this process. I was taking what I've read here, and trying to make it work for an outside goal (sex, comfort) rather than becoming a man.

To make a comparison, I immediately thought of the jumping scene from the matrix. Neo keeps saying to himself he can make the jump, but fails because he hasn't internalized it (what a great movie btw).

What I'm wanting from this post though is if some of you could offer some insight into this, possibly share their experiences. Now knowing that my biggest problem is the fear of being alone, oneitis, and the need for my ladies validation, I feel more confident in my ability to do what's right for me. That doesn't mean it's easy though. I'm having a hard time finding where her wants end and mine begin. Her appeals to reason disarmed me the other night and I'm not sure if it was the right thing to do or not (she was taking a bath, asked me to stay and talk with her until she finished, I said I had some stuff I had to finish up on the computer, she sadly asked please and that it would only be another 5 minutes. That seemed reasonable to me so I stayed and talked. Deciphering whether I failed a shit test, passed a comfort test, or was just being a reasonable human has me very confused.) To summarize, I know honesty with myself is the right path, but I'm wondering if/when my feelings will match up with what I know I need to feel and not feel. I know I'm still motivated by sex and affection even though I shouldn't be, and when I feel happier after receiving it I feel like I've done myself a disservice and am only setting myself up for feeling bad when I'm not.
