Circumcision is literal genital mutilation. If women have their clitoris amputated when young, there would be outrage. Oh wait... there is. I feel it should be a choice by the man when they’re old enough to make that decision.

[–]blazedasparagus 1 point2 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

I think men should be given the choice when they're old enough, but comparing it to the clitoris is very different, so consider not using this argument. More similar to labiaplasty

[–]Sonic_The_Hamster 78 points79 points  (22 children) | Copy Link

If you read some of the comments the top ones might be misguided asshats but as you go. down you'll see people having a discussion and many agreeing with the protest.

It's great it's getting more recognised, hopefully it will go mainstream soon.

[–]Lethn 47 points48 points  (14 children) | Copy Link

Not really, I'm just seeing lots of comments about dick cheese, the funny thing is about people who make these comments are basically admitting they have terrible hygiene so they need to get part of their dick cut off to deal with it and then pretending everybody else must have the same problem. Then of course you've got the morons trying to claim 'it looks better' and that's why it should be done, honestly fuck reddit.

[–]m0mmyneedsabeer 6 points7 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

If you dont clean a circumcised dick it'll get cheese too. How dumb are people. Just wash your dick. As a mom I also can't fathom how someone could take their perfect newborn and have a healthy part of them removed. And so many moms laugh about their baby in pain! I follow that group on Facebook and they search the word circumcision on Facebook then share people's public posts about it. Sooooo many moms making fun of their crying babies

[–]Lethn 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

That's really fucked up and yeah I'm completely with you, when you bring up this point they just ignore you and start spamming. I knew facebook, twitter and reddit were bad but I hadn't realised how bad it was until I properly got into using alternatives.

The people I do feel for aside from the infants obviously are parents who don't want to circumcise their children but get really pressured into it. There's some rebellion happening and we've had a few posts here and there but unfortunately these pro-circumcision types are absolute cunts to anyone that disagrees with them and it's the exact same scenario as feminists. People need to grow a pair and stand up to them instead of getting too scared of the backlash. Staying silent won't save them because eventually they're going to start demanding that people virtue signal.

[–]SonOfHibernia 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

They want payback on all the uncircumcised men who who played them

[–]Greg_W_Allan 20 points21 points  (9 children) | Copy Link

Anybody who cares so much about the appearance of infant dick is a fucking pervert.

[–]TrueGrey 4 points5 points  (8 children) | Copy Link

I'm pretty sure we both know that's not their point.

Appearance is a terrible reason to do this to a kid, but anybody making that case is pretty obviously talking about future appearance.

[–]Greg_W_Allan 1 point2 points  (7 children) | Copy Link

pretty obviously talking about future appearance.

So we predicate it on what some shallow bitch might think in twenty years time? I can't see how that's any better at all.

[–]TrueGrey 0 points1 point  (6 children) | Copy Link

Agreed - It's not. Didn't say it was.

Just corrected the ridiculous previous statement, which is in no way challenging or related to the reasonsble statement you just made.

[–]Greg_W_Allan 0 points1 point  (5 children) | Copy Link

You've corrected nothing.

[–]TrueGrey 0 points1 point  (4 children) | Copy Link

I objectively did. You just dont seem to understand. Maybe I didn't phrase it well enough. Just read it again - I doubt we disagree.

Appearance is obviously a terrible reason for MGM, as is any non-medical concern, but anybody who actually thinks parents are pedophiles for citing appearance as their misguided motivation is literally retarded.

These cutters are fucking terrible, but theyre obviously not talking about improving the aesthetic for themselves in the present.

It doesn't make their shit any more valid or less evil to just not cringily lie about them being pedophiles.

So that could not be any more clear now. We're done here.

[–]Greg_W_Allan 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

claiming parents are pedophiles

Excuse me, DO NOT put words in my mouth. I said nothing of the kind.

[–]SonOfHibernia -1 points0 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Um these “women” clearly ARE worried about how their sons dicks will look when they’re grown. Which is fucking disgusting

[–]TrueGrey 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm not sure if you're just not reading what I'm saying or if you're just looking to vent regardless of what I said.

Maybe you're using the changing the subject fallacy because you just want to reply because you perceive each comment as an attack on your identity. Maybe you're messing with me. Maybe you're mentally unbalanced and can't parse out what this thread is about. Maybe you just mistakenly think I'm interested in discussing other elements of related subjects with you. Who's to say?

Literally my only point was, and still is, that while this practice is fucked up, that guy who claimed these parents were literally "pedophiles" is retarded, because that's obviously not what's going on.

What he claimed by using that word was: "these parents are altering genitals to increase their level of sexual attraction to their own young children"

Which is, again, retarded. End of single-topic thread.

[–]SonOfHibernia 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

And that’s almost always women saying it looks better. So cut the most sensitive sexual organ off your infant for no reason, so it “looks better”? What are you? Gona fuck him later?

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I find most people are sympathetic to men's rights issues when you bring it up without the label of men's rights. No doubt this is due to smear campaigns feminists made against MRAs. Unfortunately there's no systematic way to address these issues without an organization under the umbrella of men's rights, and that's what prevents these views from going mainstream. Most people never even thought about these issues, since they're never discussed.

The only people I ever see who aren't sympathetic to these things are feminists, who would rather shift the conversation to "but how can you not be a feminists?!??"

[–]mgtowolf 7 points8 points  (5 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, kinda annoying the top voted threads are jokes, but at least the serious shit aint in the negatives I guess.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

But, as far as jokes go, they are fun ones.

I’m circumcised. Don’t really miss my foreskin, but was mad I didn’t get a choice.

I didn’t circumcise my son, but he had health issues that led to half of it being removed.

[–]Hinkler12 3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

As it should be. Nothing on the human body should be removed unless it causes health issues.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

but he had health issues that led to half of it being removed.

Fun fact: those health issues are rarer than issues caused by botched circumcisions.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh I know. That’s why I didn’t have him snipped at birth, and he’s still left with half his foreskin.

I was actually circumcised twice, which really pisses me off. The doctor originally did a dorsal slit, to prevent issues like Formosa, while allowing me to keep most of my foreskin. But my mother freaked and had them do a second one.

[–]Sininenn 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

What health issues?

[–][deleted] 29 points30 points  (10 children) | Copy Link

It's as simple as that: if there is no medical condition, no part of an infant's body should be removed. Period.

[–][deleted] 36 points37 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

All about the cause myself. Just don't agree with the bloody stains. I know it's for getting attention but I kind of hate that on the feminist side just as much. All the stuntery, like painting with their menstrual blood, dying their armpit hair. I probably would not be a good protester. I'd just be so passive. I'd just stand outside some place holding a protest sign and say "I don't much like this thing!"

[–]LTDlimited[S] 14 points15 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree, TBH. Too much of a Pink Pussy Hat vibe.

[–]SonOfHibernia 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

I disagree. There is exactly zero attention on this issue. A huge amount needs to be made, and it needs to be made in a attention grabbing way.

[–]Erik_Bard 9 points10 points  (2 children) | Copy Link

Can somebody tell me about the 16+ functions? Also, removing foreskin is gross and unnecessary.

[–]chickencommander403 6 points7 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

I seen this guy on Tosh

[–]shadowguyver 9 points10 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Brother K is awesome. I've protested with him a couple times.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

First they came for our foreskins.

Next they'll come for the our testes and the rest of the penis.

[–]Doalt 10 points11 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

I'm glad I'm not from America...I don't grt why so many people gez circumsized there...can someone explain me why?

[–]randomkloud 6 points7 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

"health" reasons, doctors will offer to do it

[–]SonOfHibernia 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

It had to do with a wave of Jewish doctors in the 50’s. They claimed it prevented all sorts of diseases, when they just wanted their children to be normal at school. As opposed to being ridiculed in Europe as a minority with weird dicks. That’s why it’s swinging the other way, a lot of Jews have gone into finance instead instead of medicine, so the no circumcising is slowing coming back into the mainstream. Especially along with the anti-female circumcised issue blowing up. Also we’re a backwards society, my parents are from Ireland and never thought of cutting my dick off

[–]m0mmyneedsabeer 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

The original reason was to help prevent boys from masturbating. Then doctors starting claiming it had health benefits and the tradition continued

[–]StealthyMexican 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Came here to say that. Thanks for beating me to the punch!

[–]Calpernia09 15 points16 points  (16 children) | Copy Link

This is good. I have 3 girls and one son. I got him cut and wish I had done more research on it. I hope he wont suffer any ill effects

[–]JustJamie- 20 points21 points  (7 children) | Copy Link

When he is old enough tell him you did it because you thought it was best for him. Now you know it's not. You don't want him to do it to his son.

[–]Calpernia09 9 points10 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Thank you.

[–]turbulance4 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

This. So many parents from older generations are just never challenged hard enough to overcome to tendency to believe what they did was correct.

[–]Sininenn -1 points0 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

That is not an excuse for permanently mutilating a child.

If I think it is best to kill someone, does that give me the right to kill them? Nope, it does not. Is genital mutilation any different?

[–]JustJamie- 4 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

I never said it was right. I said parents should teach their kids not to make the same bad decisions they did.

Drs told parents it was best for their sons so they went with it not knowing better.

[–]Sininenn 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

He should also tell him what he actually robbed him of.

If doctors told you to cut your, or your child's lips and cheeks off, would you do it?

Treating kids, both boys and girls is not rocket science. All it takes is some empathy and critical thinking.

[–]turbulance4 -1 points0 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Give people the space to grow.

[–]Sininenn -1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Wish my foreskin was given space to grow.

[–]nicobrae 9 points10 points  (4 children) | Copy Link

What exactly would he suffer from? (Not trying to sound rude, genuine question)

[–]enjoycarrots 11 points12 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

It's easy to botch a circumcision in ways that don't get much attention because the damage is minor and chalked up to "normal" for the owner of the penis. You can have even further reduced sensation, or have the skin that's not meant to be on your penis stretched up onto the penis because they snipped too much. Everybody likes a hairy shaft, right? More severe complications you'd notice right away, like... accidental amputation. Which happens. Or infections ranging from minor to life threatening.

[–]m0mmyneedsabeer 4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Well my husband is completely numb around the top and sometimes experiences total numbness which led him to get a prescription for cialis only in his 20s. We use lube now and it has really helped a lot but he hates that he has no feeling in some parts. He said if he would hit it with a hammer he wouldnt feel anything. Circumcision removes very sensitive nerves, and in order to circumcise a baby you have to actually rip the skin from the penis because it's fused until around puberty. It's extremely painful and leaves scar tissue. I'm guessing his numbness came from the nerves being ripped off along with the skin, having scar tissue, and the fact that the skin is dry since there's no foreskin to keep it moist

[–]Redisigh 4 points5 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

They were probably pressured by tradition and family. That’s half the reason people do it nowadays. Say you’re 24, have a close relationship with your parents and you have a son. They want you to circumcise him because it was done to them and their parents. Who are you to say no to an age old tradition?

[–]TheRealStepOne1 5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I like America, it's my favorite country, what i don't like is that there is circumcision in America, what's worse is that females choose to circumcise or not, its like they know how it feels to have a foreskin on or off, men should decide since they are the experts at this situation.

Luckily i am not circumcised and i grew up in Romania

[–]GamePlayXtreme 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

In second grade of secondary school here, we watched a documentary on traditions from around the world. One of the traditions was cutting off the labia minora from 12 year old girls (who usually consented), and everyone was talking about how fucking barbaric it was. The teacher was talking about how a girl shouldn't have to destroy her body to please others. Nobody gave a fuck about forced circumcision. Not a single person. If that isn't a fucking terrible double standard, I don't know what is.

[–]SonOfHibernia 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Genital mutilation. And women contribute to this by calling uncircumcised penises “ugly” when there are PLENTY of ugly meaty lips pussys out there, that we’d be called monsters for pointing out.

[–]ddh_ddh 3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I had to get a circumcision done at the age of 19 and i come from a place where circumcision isn't the norm so i lived the past 19years without being circumcised and after it i feel horrible the pain the sensitivity issues can't even wear normal clothes screw self pleasure i just wanna say unless and until you're not indicated to do it i really recommend no one does it istg can't even take a piss without spraying the area in urine and even sitting down it kinda sucks and i hate the fact that circumcision is the norm for millions of babies all over the world even with or without religion it just sucks and people mock men for raising voice against it i agree with feminist female circumcision is horrible but still DON'T CIRCUMCISE YOUR KIDS it sucks

[–]Nonperverse 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Justice for Mew2king

[–]SouljaBoyBosnia 0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

Can someone please explain the circumcision debate i havent been informed

[–]LTDlimited[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

Well, for starters doctors routinely cut part of baby boys'dicks off for a quick buck, and men who weren't mutilated are often made to feel like they are the ones with a problem.

[–]SouljaBoyBosnia 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Ah, I'm curious if there's any benefit to it or is it just free money for the snip snip

[–]Comrade_Witchhunt -3 points-2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm all for people not doing it if they don't want, but those "sixteen functions," are the same 3 ideas rehashed 16 times. One of them is that it makes your dick smaller...who TF cares about 1cm of skin at the tip? Seems like a series of bad arguments.

Just focus on the mutilation part, that's the only one FGM folks focus on.

Plus, it's not like having foreskin is without problems, also. Everyone keeps saying "you're dirty if you think foreskins get grimy," but it's a dumb argument to imply having more skin wouldn't mean it gets dirty easier.

IDC what you do with your dick, but I'm cut and have no issues with it. This seems like a weird hill to die on when we have so many other issues to address.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
