Hard work should be supported. Yes. And it’s mostly men doing physically exhausting Labour. It’s important work and as such it’s good that it’s paid well. But essential working fields that happen to be dominated by women should be paid that well too. Because no one who is working a full time job should be dependent on someone else, no matter the gender. Whoever is doing the job should be well-paid and if they are paid differently for the same work that’s fucked up. I don’t care if someone decides it’s best to be a trad wife or sth else as long as it’s their choice and their partner agrees and for that we need women dominated fields to be paid accordingly too

I totally agree you should get paid more for dangerous and physically straining jobs, no question. But I thought the wage gap issue was regarding men and women doing the same job? At least that's what it was originally. But I read somewhere that in many cases there's a wage gap within the same career paths because women get pregnant and give birth at some point and therefore men advance more. It makes sense to me that you'd get paid more if you spent more time on the job than another person did. There's a reason why many women (at least in younger generations) put off starting families nowadays.

Nurses should make a lot more than they do. I'll take busting my ass in the hot and humid factory I work in over nursing and dealing with sick people every time. We're all in this shit together.

Hospital staff in general makes stupidly long hours and it's hard work as well. Nurses generally do get underpaid I think.

And if you look at a hospital bill I wonder why they can't get a little bit more.

This is sort of stupid... The highest paying jobs are not manual labor. Furthermore, studies have shown not only a small wealth gap—which this might explain—but an actual gap in pay for similar professions and experience.

Look, I came to this sub because I do believe men’s rights are something overlooked. I think our mental health is ignored, and the hypocrisy of social movements ignores us. We need a voice too.

But!

These are the kinds of things that make us look ignorant and sexist. If we want our voices heard, we can’t proudly support sexism, especially in situations where we have statistical evidence. Like extremist feminism, which isn’t about equality, but about drawing a line in the sand, we’ll invalid the arguments for issues that actually need to be addressed, like suicide rates.

I agree with this but we also have to think about that people complain about wage gaps in the SAME jobs. Have two managers, female and male, and the male being paid more with the same amount of experience/education. I think that is what many complain about.

Back in school, we had an annual "Dad's work Day" where girls were exempt from school for a day to go and take a look at their dad's (often physically tough) jobs. That makes you learn how difficult certain jobs men do that women probably will not even consider.

This is a strawman. The gender pay gap isn’t about men and women doing different jobs and getting paid more. The gender pay gap is about women being paid less for the same work as a man.

Edit: Note I am not passing judgement on whether the gender pay gap exists or not
