Is used a lot in the UK, often it's just a disguise for something else. It is used for women only swimming and library hours. That does not mean it is always an invalid excuse, though mostly imo it is.

If anyone is confused, this article refers to Muslims as Asians. It's a UK thing.

What does it have to do with Muslims though? Why would Muslim women be afraid of Muslim men in the UK?

Sadly, this doesn't surprise me at all. My husband stayed home with our daughter when she was a baby and tried to take a German course that was about 2 minutes from our house. The told him no because it was only for women.

We have a high population of Muslim Turks in our area and some of the more traditional among them won't go if there are men there. It's shit.

It's the mark of a tactless business owner. It's one thing to have a women's only fitness place, but to bar motherless children from having access with their father is just weak.

Honestly, a business owner can do whatever they want, and cater to whomever they want... but I'd certainly be inclined to steer my kids away from such a place, even if my wife is able to take them. Outrage from the fathers of the families that attend that place could shut it down quickly just by not having their family participate in keeping that kind of discriminatory business afloat.

I'd rather see the free market shut it down than to legislate it open to all. Business owners like that deserve to fail. But, I'd hate for MRAs to cry for the government's help on this, as that's a tactic reserved for the fembots.

Hey folks I'm from around this area so maybe I can shed some light on whats going on. As stated in other posts these are Muslim people. Alot of people in the area now were full on Niqaabs covering their entire bodies, so they are pretty strict muslims.

However from what I can tell of the Pakistani Mirpuri gender divide, it's pretty much in the mens favour. Some of the stricter families dont allow their ladies to drive and do other strange things like make them sit in the back seat of the car etc. Men are allowed to have extra-maritial sex but the ladies aren't allowed to wear western clothing etc. I would expect that the ladies stay at home whilst the men work and that divorce and seperation are rare though I cant say for sure. It's pretty weird but Mirpur is I've been told a poor rural area.

TLDR: Unless you live in the predominatly muslim area of in Sparkhill it's unlikely to affect you.

Having a hard time seeing this as bad. If this trend goes on maybe men will actually want to have some children. Now let's head towards a ban on men changing diapers and cleaning up assholes and waking up at night to take care of the crying. Going shopping and being dragged along through a lot of these fashion clothing places should also be illegal because those places need to be female safe spaces in my humble opinion.
