Glad to hear at least one place of the world realizing it. The thought of a man paying a woman in huge amounts just because she left him alone is itself very low and odd. Let's hope that soon this will happen across the whole world.

Whilst I agree with this reform (I have other criticisms of DeSantis), this only serves to make him even MORE unelectable as Prez.

Suburban women are a key demographic to win a Presidential election. This, along with DeSantis' recent shrinking of Florida's elective-abortion gestational limit from 15 weeks (which isn't inhumane) to 6 weeks (which is inhumane), are enough to make DeSantis an extremely hard sell to that demographic.

Combine that with the fact that DeSantis has positioned himself as opposed to Trump's relative inclusiveness towards sexual and gender minorities (a positioning that many Republicans have criticized him for).

DeSantis is right about this issue and was right about COVID. But I don't think he'll be politically rewarded for it.

The guy seems a little unhinged most of the time, but this makes too much sense. I can understand a few years of it because she took time off to be with the kids (although whose idea it actually was is he said/she said...) But why punish a guy if she doesn't want to find a job once the kids are older and independent and why would the nest 20 years after they even be relevant at all? Mostly bad arguments like women getting divorced at 60 what do they do... Well they've already split everything, including the guys retirement at that age and surely they've had at least 15 years they could also have been working for themselves.. is he supposed to work into his 70s to keep paying?
