You posted this in r/mensrights, which, unlike many women-centered subs, doesn’t ban or silence dissenting views like yours. That alone shows a cultural double standard. Men build forums to discuss systemic issues, and still allow opposing opinions. Women build echo chambers. But let’s move to some examples.

(Selective Service Draft)

Men are legally required to register for the draft or face penalties. Women aren’t. Theoretically, women can be drafted, but only men are forced to sign up. That’s state-mandated control over male bodies. No female equivalent exists.

(Infant male Circumcision)

Boys are routinely circumcised without consent. It’s legal, normalized, and done for non-medical reasons. The same practice on infant girls is considered criminal mutilation.

(Paternity Fraud)

Men proven not to be the father are still forced to pay child support in many states. No refund. No justice. Just state-enforced theft based on a lie. If roles were reversed, it’d be prosecuted as fraud.

These are just some examples, there’s many more however I have lines of blow to tend to. You came in here acting like no one could name even one example, like the question itself was rhetorical. These are not opinions, they’re documented legal and systemic disparities.

Walking into r/mensrights with that smug tone and no intel just made you look uninformed at best… and deliberately dismissive at worst. Cheers.

What law protects the man if he does want to keep the kid and you do not? I feel the law you mention is more about empowering women’s choice without a man having a say!!!

I believe everyone should have the right to bodily autonomy and I support her body her choice.

But my lived experience? I was not given the right to bodily autonomy - I was circumcised - my body but not my choice. I wish my parents had not done that to me, as I'd rather not be circumcised. But I was never afforded that right to make that choice for myself regarding my own body.

How about this? As someone who pays equal taxes as women, I have a right to equal support for my issues, equally fair laws for me, equal privileges at work and society and equal opportunities. Am I getting them? No.

Majority of the funds are allocated to address women's issues and very little to address issues faced by men. Now you will probably say we men don't have issues which is exactly how I would expect a modern feminist to talk.

You as a woman already have equal opportunity to prove yourself. The same opportunity today is given to you at work which is given to men. But it is still not enough for you. There's diversity hiring for women and quotas for women inspite of women being given equal opportunities. There are no such initiatives for men.

Also notice how you keep bringing up events from the past to victimize yourself in the present even though you have privileges in the present which men don't have.

If you actually take an honest unbiased look at history, you will find that besides a few men at the top, most men and women were oppressed. The rights and privileges you take for granted today, those had to be fought for. There was terrible oppression and tyranny all around and it wasn't limited to a certain group of people. More often than not men and women worked together to get us this far.

If you think it was all sunshine and rainbows for us men in the past, well imagine wearing a 50 pound armor and having to march into battle in the name of a king who you have probably never met once, no health insurance, no guarantee you will ever come back while women probably sat at home, tended to the children, watered the plants or made loafs of bread.

Lets go back a little bit farther, shall we? When men and women were living in caves, men would put their lives on the line to protect women and children from predators and get food for the entire tribe. Funny how women didn't wanna be 'strong and independent, need no man' then. Now that a working society has been built to support you, you press a button and everything works, so you now feel you don't need men. Well how did you get here? Even today when there is a crisis or catastrophe, men step aside and say 'women and children should be rescued first' before them. Maybe men should stop doing such things for people who have 0 gratitude in them and are all about 'me, me, me'.

You don't get to hear a lot about men's rights because men do more for others than they do for themselves. A man in his life stands up more for others than he stands up for himself. You forget feminists alone wouldn't have been able to do anything if a huge number of men weren't sympathetic towards women's issues. But sadly we don't get that sympathy or sensitivity from the other side.

Also I see it to be a recurring pattern in your comments about how you keep making it a contest. Truth is we men never wanted to see women as competitors but rather as our partners. But it is your modern feminist movement which started the gender war and kept making it a contest. Maybe it's high time, we men start treating you like competitors.

I don't agree with everything said on this sub. However, it has provided me with a safe space to express misandry in our world. For example, I was sexually assaulted. I talked about it once in the sexual assault sub reddit (where I stated I was a man and was assaulted by another man) and a woman responded with "This is why we choose the bear." Like what??? On the other hand, here I was met with kindness and understanding on how my trauma is disregarded because of my gender.

Just because misandry does not have the same past as misogyny, doesn't mean that it isn't an issue. Take suicide rates for example. Or my example with sexual assault.

So, if you’re going to point to women’s rights being violated fair enough, but that’s a separate issue. And, if women should stand primarily for rights that affect them, then men should also stand for issues that primarily affect them.

Men are required to pay child support even if they didn’t want the child. This doesn’t apply in the same way to women where abortion is legal because women who have children where abortion is legal only do so when they want the child. And people who have children when they want to have a legal obligation to raise the child.

Men are drafted. Women aren’t drafted into combat roles as much as men if at all. And if you can women can be drafted, that’s like saying men can be raped when talking about rape. Ok, true enough, that doesn’t change that men can rape women more easily than vice versa.

Men and women have the right to property. As long as men make more money than women and career is more important to men than women, laws violating property rights more directly affect men than they do women.

Men do not have any reproductive rights whatsoever anywhere in the world. In the US, if a woman rapes a man and impregnates herself, she can sue the man she raped for child support, and the man will have to pay or go to jail.

So what are the rights being violated for men?

The right to a fair trial, where men are assumed guilty until and unless proven innocent. The right for male victims to have as much help and support as female victims. The right to be treated equally before the law, whereas women receive jail sentences 60% shorter than men who commit the exact same crimes, simply for being women. The right to equal education, whereas right now boys and men fall behind girls academically in 4th grade and it gets worse every year after that, with 60%+ of university graduates being women, and women still receiving overwhelmingly more female-only scholarships than men get male-only scholarships.

So a bunch of you commented but literally cannot tell me what men’s rights are. Most of you are dumb and ignorant. Men are more emotional creatures. See violent crimes statistics, the state of the world, war, etc.

Anyway, here are some legal rights women have and men don't:

Presumed custody of children in the case of divorce. This was exacerbated by the Tender Years Doctrine, spearheaded by first-wave feminist Caroline Norton, and perpetuated by modern feminists through lobbying groups' efforts against rebuttable presumed shared custody.
Seperation of consent to sex from consent to parenthood and the responsibilities thereof. Feminist commentators have said that a unilaterally male-controlled contraceptive would "take away womens' choices".
Bodily integrity (i.e., genital mutilation. For girls its a violation of international law; for men it's at best unusual but tolerable, and at worst actively campaigned for as an eroneous means of combating AIDS). Feminists, while claiming to be advocates for "equality", are curiously quiet on this issue, compared to their efforts on FGM.
Immunity from accusations of rape. Rape requires the perpetrator to have a penis, so when women engage in nonconsentual sex with men, he is more likely to be charged than she is. This is mainly the work of Feminist researcher Mary Koss, from whom feminists get the eroneous 1-in-4 statistic. And if a woman gets pregnant from raping a man (or boy), she can sue her rape victim for child support.

Obviously some of these would be best reformed by giving men rights (bodily integrity, for instance), while some would be better served by removing womens' privileges (immunity from accusations of rape). Equal treatment, that's all that's required.

Conscription is a well known violation of rights as it is forced military enlistment. In the United States, a man de facto doesn't even have the right to vote as he must register for selective service first.

For instance, women have laws regulated around their bodies.

Talking about abortion I see. Problem is many including me do not see a baby with their own separate DNA as part of the mother's body. The baby is IN the body but not a part of it. As a result many including me argue that this baby has their own right to live like everyone else and shouldn't be defined during a state of development as humans are ALWAYS developing.

I can actually name three. Back to conscription laws, that in a way is a violation of a person's body as they are sent to fight and potentially die in a war. They are forced to put their bodies on the line and sacrifice it for their country against their will. Conscription is slavery and war is mass murder.

Excluding conscription laws, there are ways in which a man's bodily autonomy is being violated. Despite me be anti-abortion, there is still such a thing as reproductive rights. Those include: contraceptives, a woman's eggs (as THAT is actually her DNA), and sperm (which is the man's DNA), etc. Crimes like rape and forced pregnancy is considered violation of a person's reproductive rights. Forced motherhood is illegal but what about forced fatherhood? It is not a criminal offense to lie about being on birth control or to outright steal a man's sperm in order to inseminate oneself or someone. In fact, even afterward despite not wishing to be a father, the mother can still legally demand child support. To add even more, a women is actually fully legally capable of suing a man for child support even if the man (or worse underage boy) became the father through female on male rape (which is not actually as rare as statistics allude to as they define rape among gendered lines or through forceful penetration). The reason for this is due to the Kansas State Supreme Court precedent ruling Hermesmann v. Seyer. Objectively both parents should have the right to surrender their child to give them to better caregivers if they are unwilling or unable to parent.

Finally infant male circumcision. Many baby boys are routinely circumcised without consent. It is entirely legal while the female one is rightfully banned. Why shouldn't the male one be banned, would you agree that it violates the baby boy's bodily autonomy.

In the United States, no they can't. Women can VOLUNTARILY sign up for selective service. This is not an option for able bodied men - men MUST sign up for selective service or have their constitutional rights revoked and thrown in jail. As for the other countries, yeah there are a handful of countries that have conscription for both men and women but typically women are required to serve for a smaller duration compared to men and often enjoy more exemptions. One of the only countries that is nearly equal in conscription for both genders is probably Israel and even they have various exemptions only for women.

True. But in the vast majority of cases - it is the man who pays child support. Additionally - courts in the United States have a much stronger gender bias for women than a racial one for white people. For example if I was fighting a legal battle with a black person as a white man, the court would most likely favor me if the black person is a man. However if the black person is a woman, this would effectively neuter the racial bias and the court would most likely favor her.

Also true. But again there is the gender bias in courts. Additionally - most police stations adhere to the Duluth model for intimate partner violence (IPV) which is a misandrist model that alludes that all IPV cases are male on female non-reciprocal even though 71% of non-reciprocal IPV is started by the wife. This results in the man being arrested by the police by default even if he is the one with all of the bruises and even the one who called the police while the wife doesn't have any marks on her. Generally, the woman may end up going to jail for IPV if it is painfully obvious she is the abuser.

Genuinely, no men’s rights are at risk. Obviously, men face issues but that is due to gendered stereotypes, intersectionality etc.

The people here do not care about men’s rights, a lot of them spread misinformation resulting in more harm I.e will say that charities focusing on men don’t exist when there is a PLETHORA of said charities. This is an antifeminist sub and many people here are misogynistic.

Equality feels like oppression when you’re accustomed to privilege.
