Concerning the issue with single moms, and dads being kept away from their children: GWW only talks about how that makes sons statistically less productive and more criminal. That's certainly true, but another aspect, IMO, is further emasculation.

Because how is feminism supposed to stop when more and more sons are raised with the ideas of "being a man = macho = bad", "you're at fault for having oppressed women" and "you must place women on a huge pedestal"..?

Personally, I was raised 99% by my mother and I was buying into this crap for a looong time. Not because she told me these things (the constant bombardment from popular culture was just as responsible), but because there was no one to tell me/to convey that it's okay to be a man. It wasn't until I got into pickup that I finally learned how important it is to have respect for yourself (which also means saying "no" sometimes), to be comfortable with your sexuality, and to treat women as mere humans and nothing more than that.

Ironically, these aspects in a man are the ones that normal and healthy women are the most attracted to -- and that feminists loathe the most. Because it means we don't comply with something anymore just because it was demanded by a woman. Feminism owes lots of the free candy it has given to women to this male obedience.

I loved the part where she equated "slut-shaming", or disapproval of the willful abandonment of the traditional chaste woman role, with "deadbeat dads", or disapproval of the willful abandonment of the traditional male provider role. I never thought of it that way, but it makes total sense. I have a new retort it seems.

Agreed. But what is the answer? The mass education of women has been a good thing. Mothers in the workforce is not a bad thing. We've made incredible productivity gains related to housework. I could go on and on. The world is just a lot different than it was 50 years ago. We're NOT going back to a traditional "patriarchy".

I think it comes down to giving men some skin in the game. Men need a right to parent their children. They do NOT need to be alimony and "child" support slaves.

girlwriteswhat, your comments on female physicians are incredibly astute. I believe the ever-increasing proportion of female doctors is buoyed by "female preference".

Personally, I am disturbed by the trend of women who choose other women preferentially and do not see it as discrimination. The best example: Every young woman I know insists on having a female doctor. For some reason, this is an acceptable bias.

I've read that people prefer female doctors because they are perceived as more empathetic - something studies have shown is purely based on a woman's biases and not objective evaluation.

But an equally strong explanation is that female doctors show more empathy because they often only work a 30 hour week - of course they seem rested and empathetic. When there is a doctor shortage, this is called "not pulling your weight".

This video should be subtitled "how giving women everything they want is destroying society and marginalizing men", because that's what it seems to come down to. In order to incentivize men to get married and have a family, the divorce laws have to be reformed so that those men know that it won't all be taken away from them if their wife decides to unilaterally divorce them. Those laws won't be reformed unless women give up some of their power and control with regard to marriage, divorce, and children.
