Dont worry about competing. Be the best you and keep an open mind. Being concerned about competition can sometimes project insecurity, and that will set you back more than "the other guy".

There will always be someone better off in some ways. Focus on making yourself fulfilled, content, happy and strong. The rest will come with time. There is always someone who is richer, handsomer, higher status, whatever. The older guy with more money would probably gladly be your age and broke. Trust me. Play to your strengths.
