I had a lot of (female) friends get behind MeToo and then act like a guy looking at them creepy qualified as "rape". then when I explained another female friend of mine who owns her own business was having trouble having meetings with men during lunch because no one wanted to be alone with her of fear of accusations. My sister's response? "Good for her, men should be afraid!" -- uhhh it's going to cost her her business but ya know, so long as your jimmies are excited, right?

So many falsified stories in the TimesUp playbook. Look at Asia Argento, who accused Harvey Weinstein of rape. She was then accused of raping a 17 year old boy on a movie set where she was the highest authority figure. Nothing happened to her as far as legal consequences.

This is what happens when the accuser is immediately believed and the accused is immediately labeled a piece of shit. Feminists love to complain about the power dynamics between women and the fantastical "patriarchy." Well, there's a real power dynamic in sexual misconduct allegations and it doesn't favor men.

This kind of gender discrimination is a response to the gender discrimination of people at large. Once the average person takes the side of evidence--not the side of the person with the proper genitals--things will normalize.

With companies risking millions of dollars in litigation and small companies risking complete bankruptcy small wonder that men have decided to limit interaction between men and women as much as possible. Cue the inevitable cry "oh, man up!" and "if you are worried your interaction could be wrong, congratulations! You shouldn't be interacting!" while ignoring no one not even women are exactly sure of all the nuances of interaction because a woman could take a statement, a joke, and invitation the wrong way and by the time it is cleared up tons of money has been spent and nothing productive has been done.

Men want clear-cut rules and guidelines but all we are getting is vagueness and examples of extreme behavior which we already knew was wrong so the logical step is just keep as much distance as possible as you would walking through a jungle full of hungry animals who may or may not ignore you.

What bothers me is how so many comments on facebook are just "Just don't sexually harrass and you'll be fine!"

It shows a complete lack of perspective and awareness. What people constitute sexual harrassment varies massively from person to person. I mean, one of the "issues" aziz's accuser brought up was that he didn't let her choose which wine she wanted on her date. It also doesn't hold the accuser accountable whatsoever, for putting themself in that position or escalating the situation (By e.g. flirting) to begin with.

As long as the laws are so fuzzyand subjective, while mere accusations so devastating, this is unfortunately the only way to completely protect yourself. It's shitty, but i fully understand why any man wouldn't want to risk his career on the whims of someone who can just randomly accuse him 20 years later.
