Good men haven’t gone anywhere. Women having high expectations isn’t about a lack of good men and men are under no obligation to change to pander to women’s high desires.

I also find it ironic that society had purposely focused on girls and women in education and now complains women are finding it hard to marry up.

[–]Relevant_Ad_12261 points 3 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

You didn’t read the article. The article actually makes a much better point about men’s value being in their utility rather than whining about women’s ridiculous hypocritical standards and whom they fuck. It’s not a bad piece.

[–]63daddy 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I did read it, and I’m not suggesting men whine.

[–]Relevant_Ad_1226 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I deleted my comment as I think it gave the wrong message. Men should absolutely clamour for their rights. Do NOT remain passive.

[–]63daddy 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I absolutely agree there! Thanks for clarifying.

[–]TheSnesLord 65 points66 points67 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Treating all men as predators, encouraging MeToo false accusations, attacking and bashing men at every turn, making men walk on eggshells, discriminating against men in education, workforce, politics, law and government, woman setting ridiculous demands and standards when dating men, trending Misandry on social media, etc.

Women: "wHeRe HavE AlL tHe MeN gOnE"

which translates to:

"where are the handsome six foot plus six pack six figure salary Chads"

Those are busy being the elite that they hate for being the patriarchy. One way social, the other way societal. Having the cake and eating it too.

Feminists will ask men to lower their standards but also say that men have to meet women’s standards. Don’t lower your standards, being in a relationship you’re not happy in is way worse than being single.

[–]AnonymouslyFlustered 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

To me being single is great. When I get home I don’t have to do a damn thing. Play video games , go to the gym , eat whatever , whenever. It’s been that way for going on five years and I don’t see myself going back . When I retire in about 15 -20 years it’s on to the Philippines I go. Screw these women of the west . They can stay in the misery they created..alone

[–]Scandi_Navy 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Relationships for men are literally work for intimacy. And I don't mean the money you have to earn. I mean all the things you have to deal with and do for them.

[–]throwawaygoodvibess 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right there with ya m8. I fcking love the freedom. Cannot see myself giving that up

Maybe in the old days, when it was all worth it. But not anymore. Now I just do my own thing. Save up. And retire as soon as I can, although I don’t mind working for a while.

My only concern is making more than what I make right now, while also having some off time haha (I make decent, but definitely want more). Working towards that atm. 💪🙏

[–]San7igamer 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men, don't lower your standards, they're fine. It's the women's standards that cause the problem.

[–]MusicalMerlin1973 28 points29 points30 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I remember one coworker in his early thirties telling me about his then long in the rear view mirror honeymoon. They were sitting on the beach and she turns to him saying, let’s get one thing straight. I wear the pants. As long as you remember that we’ll be fine.

I’d have said come on let’s go. Go where? I believe there’s still time to anul this farce. Something I should have been told about the contract before I signed.

A marriage should be a partnership. Do I check in with my wife? Yeah I do. But here’s the thing: she checks in with me too. Neither of us make major decisions before running it by the other. Works pretty well.

In todays environment? Yeah, I’d nope out of pursuing a relationship with some woman if I weren’t married. Statistically not worth it. If for some reason my wife passes before me I know that the failure rate for second marriages exceeds that of first, and I’d already would have had a successful marriage. Why tempt fate?

[–]Relevant_Ad_1226 -5 points-4 points-3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

God damn, son! Even though literally every single relationship/marriage between men and women is like this, most women are not going to spell it out so overtly like that.

I also seriously doubt that your marriage is actually a 50-50 partnership. It just doesn’t work that way in the real world. That’s like a black slave in the fucking 19th century saying that he has a 50-50 partnership with his master. Umm. No buddy. Even if the master is uniquely kind and treats the slave well which is not likely it is still a master/slave relationship. Period.

[–]San7igamer 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why do you think that and how does it work in your opinion

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, the PC answer whenever someone is asked something along the lines of who wears the pants in the relationship, is that it's an "equal partnership." I think it's possible in the way that balancing a ball on your head is possible - it takes constant work to not let it roll off one way or the other. Both are not really very practical in the long term.

If you have a chance to ask more questions, it's usually not too hard to figure it out.

"Mary, who wear's the pants in your relationship with your husband, Bob?"

"Neither. We have an equal partnership."

"Mary, when is the last time you said "no" to something Bob asked from you?"

"Last night I told him I wasn't in the mood."

"How did he react?"

"I don't know, I fell asleep right after that. He seemed fine the next day."

"Bob, when was the last time you said "no" to something Mary wanted you to do for her?"

"3 months ago she asked me to go shopping with her for new clothes. I said no because I had planned to watch the game with my buds."

"How did she react?"

"She was kind of grumpy for a while even though I called my buds and told them I wouldn't be joining them for the game."

My 25 year old son is not interested in getting married or having children. My nephew, 45, feels the same way. My son is starting a screen printing business. My nephew is an executive and now takes care of my uncle, his father, who he was alienated from by his mom.

We need to tell boys they don't need relationship as many are bad. Bad for men.

Worse we still say that a man does better in life with a good woman's support. Men don't need women either.

[–]No_Procedure_5376 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly dude. I'm 17 Focused on my Animation career & my Grandad and other people want me get a Girlfriend and "fuck as many hoes" . I don't want to do that at all, I've had more than 10+ bodies so I'm pretty contempt with what I've experienced with girls at the point. I just want to focus on school, work and my mental health. Females are cool thought just not for me at this moment.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've been trying to figure out this feminine support mantra. I still can't figure out if there's something to it or if it's just a man being polite when he's doing something similar to an acceptance speech for his success and feels obligated to try to give his wife some kind of credit.

This is about Most Women, not ALL Women.

Women : I'm strong, independent, and I don't need Men.

Also Women : You better pay for the restaurant bill.

Also Women : You better hold that door open for me.

Also Women : You better pay for child support and alimony if we divorce.

Also Women : Why won't Men marry us anymore?

Also Women : Hate each other, and want a man in their life.

Women : We want equal rights, equal pay.

Also Women : Refuse to work as hard as men do. Or can't even work as hard.

Also Women : Where have all the men gone?

If there were truly a shortage of good men on a wide scale, I think we would see this reflected in the data for age of each sex at the time of first marriage. Young women would respond to the shortage by trying to grab one sooner than later, pushing down the average age that women marry. Most likely we would see the age gap push higher as men tend to be better prospects as they age through their late 20s to late 30s as they establish a career and stable environment to be able to raise a family.

So far the age at first marriage keeps pushing higher, so if the above affect is there, it's being drown out by something else. The main thing is it seems like it's women's biological clock that finally kicks them in the ass and tells them to hurry up.

I married at 30 because I wanted to have a family and the risk was worth it to me since I'm convinced kids do best in a stable home with both parents. When I was making the decision to propose, I honestly felt no pressure at all with any kind of biological clock. I did try to be respectful to hers though and balance vetting with using up too much of her fertility window. It was mostly about figuring out if this was someone that had very high chance of having a good solid marriage with with minimal risk of things blowing up.

It took me a long time to find a woman who wasn't going to try to wear the pants in the relationship or use any of the SIGN methods to get her way but had actual communication and conflict resolution skills.

SIGN:

  1. Shame
  2. Insults
  3. Guilt
  4. Need to be right

Without that, they're not marriage material in my book. I thought I had a candidate with my first GF, but 9 months in she finally made a move to wear the pants. I put my foot down. She broke up. I don't know if I was supposed to be heartbroken or what but I don't think I even shed a tear. It was just relief that I hadn't gotten stuck in a marriage with her because the odds would have been so high that it would have been miserable.

Women need to learn how to have a cooperative relationship with a man like my wife and I have instead of a competitive and/or combative one. Mostly I see society push women toward the latter, so it's no surprise to me when men decide the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

I think a better metric is long-term relationships and cohabitation. The proportion of men living alone has grown significantly in Western nations in the last few decades. There could be various reasons for this and perhaps there are several causes but this is one demographic shift (among many) that should be ringing alarm bells but is mostly being ignored in the mainstream.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Dalrock had a series of posts on his blog that looked at demographic data to see any indications of a marriage strike by men. From what I remember, it was inconclusive. Sadly, he retired and hasn't done any new posts doing the same analysis on newer data available.

You probably are on to something. Every indication seems to point toward almost all women wanting to get married, but not-so much with men. The higher cohab, lower marriage rate, rising age at first marriage, rising % never married, rising % single, all support that.

are people not realising the backwards values in this article? It’s very much the opposite of what the MRM should be giving a platform

“Women have made the transition to manhood rather nicely, while men are transitioning to womanhood… Women want to be like men, but men don’t want to be like women”

it’s reducing manhood to… being financially independent? being in the workforce? what a shallow and sexist standard

it’s just signalling at archaic and oppressive gender roles. men work and provide, women make a family, the type of attitude or standard that is so detrimental to men and womens rights alike. acting as if a women being independent is somehow masculine is so backwards.

[–]Relevant_Ad_1226 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah it is a weird article actually. It seems to be insinuating that and yet at the same time saying that men should stop being tools and utilities for society/women and that it’s long overdue to quote the article. Not entirely sure what to make of it. Maybe he wasn’t defining men as providers but just using that frame of reference of societies perception of men.

[–]-Soggy-Potato- 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

i reckon you’re right

i think the lack of real conclusion creates a bit of confusion. It brings up lots of different examples of ‘men’, but then criticising all of these avenues as unobtainable because… women want independence and won’t marry young. it just sort of says all the ‘men’ are gone and plates that up to the fault of women being independent

idk, i might be missing something, or the article might just not be very well written. seems like that could be if looking at some of the other comments on the post

[+]VikingHunterr -20 points-19 points-18 points 3 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Just more tradcon BS complaining that women are in the workforce.

"But who exactly does he marry if all these fantastic women are busy being men; toiling in the hard scrabble world of cubicles, meetings and text messaging? "

"woman-ing-up” is defined as getting a degree, dedicating her efforts to her career and delaying child birth until she finally quits hitting the snooze button on her biological clock"

[–]pearl_harbour1941 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You have to admit that women's happiness quotient has gone down in lockstep with the demands placed upon them to enter the workforce and "have a career". Women who don't want to have a career but aspire to be mothers and housewives are shamed by other women.

Why do women shame other women for their natural bodily duty? It's not like men can just take over the role of having babies, and it's not men shaming women for wanting to be mothers.

And why, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, are women told that their happiness lies in getting more degrees than men and climbing the corporate ladder faster and better, but in high heels??

You're in the wrong sub if you think guys here think that women shouldn't be in the workforce. We don't care one way or another. But if you look at it from women's point of view, their happiness has gone down as their corporate success has gone up. Why?

Could it be, and hear me out here, that women's happiness doesn't mainly stem from a corporate career?

If you dare to think this, somehow you're labeled a tradcon?

[–]ChadWolf98 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well good luck with the career then. If your goal is career and not family be the best career woman you want. What you and other woman cant do is be a career woman then when the biological clock starts to signal "its only a few years remained" you suddenly switch teams and join the family women. Because men who want family will pick the 20 year old family oriented woman. And not the 38 year old manager or ceo.

I dont care how many degrees a woman has. When I want a family the type of degree is probably one of the least relevant thing
