These battered women's shelters are allegedly there to serve the needs of victims of abuse. I am a man and I am the victim of abuse from my wife. She's ended up in jail for it repeatedly. Despite this, after she got away with it again by way of a non-prosecution affidavit from me (stupid) she told a social worker that I threatened her (I didn't) and that I threw a chair (it was a toy chair made of cheap plastic and I didn't throw it at her) when I found out she was scheming to cheat on me, and the social worker induced her to come and get my daughter whom I have taken care of 24/7 since the day she was born. Now they're in a shelter apparently and I can't see my child, all based on her lies. I can't afford a lawyer. Now I'm screwed because somehow the social worker had the power to do this. There was no warrant, no court order, but now I don't know where my child is.

I'm the victim. Why don't I get to go to the shelter with my child? Why does my wife get to pull this? She has the record of abuse. She's a drug addict. I'm not. This is unbelievably unfair.
