I wouldn't post on there.

Like many a sub, they aren't as liberal with free-speech as this one, so if you post anything "in bad faith" or to debate, just a whiff of that will get you banned.

Why start a conversation somewhere it'll never be allowed to finish?

The irony is that’s the forum that’s a huge information bubble: it’s an echo chamber of agenda driven misinformation. You can’t debate or call out lies there because their rules only allow information that supports feminist agenda. Facts not in line with feminist agenda are forbidden no matter how documented those facts are.

I browsed both of those when the Depp v Heard trial was going on and remember them supporting Heard. They have a habit of framing any issue as misogyny, even if it’s men being discriminated. They’re the type that say men’s issues will only be fixed by focusing on women’s, i.e. trickle down equality. It’s all bullshit.

Forgot one. They say it’s not on feminists to sort out men’s issues which is fine with me but will demonise any group that advocates for men as well lol.

Can't say I've posted over there much. Checked old and that states I've got -8 karma over there and I've posted once. Can only recall the one comment that was pretty recent -- I thanked someone for their comment. I vaguely recall replying to someone about paper abortions but I'm unsure which subreddit that was in

They don't hold themselves to that standard. You'll get comments about how bad MRAs, incels, MGTOW and whoever else are without any glimmer of self-awareness or irony

They ask the same questions over and over, treat outsiders like a bunch of morons, and then tell you to go educate yourself because they think anybody who doesn't agree with them is an alt-right troll. There are rare moments when they're actually kind, but the rest of the time they just end up insulting the OP or being beyond condescending.

If you want to learn about feminism, read a freakin' book because they can't explain the philosophical underpinnings either. Start with Steinem and Friedan, maybe some Foucault, and then work your way from there. Then, to challenge yourself, find somebody who critiques those authors.

In a nutshell, their gripe is that modern society was built by white men. Because it was built by men, that implies that it was intentionally designed to exclude women. Everything you know about philosophy, art, culture, science can be thrown out the window because it was originally thought up by a guy.

I was just scrolling through there today. don’t I saw a feminist dude who made some points he was genuinely wanting actual discussion and engaging in good faith, was shut down a couple times once even by a mod for stating the actual truth. He was so confused as to why he was being downvoted. They don’t want discussion, they talk about how the subreddit menslib is the best subreddit for mens rights. But they also trash that subreddit from time to time too so I’m going to say no.

Any sub that bans diversity of thought is a Sub not worth looking at..... I dont care if you disagree with what's said it should not be banned to be said, otherwise you stunt learning and the potential of true break through, the way they treat opposing ideas is a huge indicator as to where the echo chambers lies .... ur not wrong in checking tho we all should and often.... lest we turn into those sorta of people.... Scared of opposition....

That's a good thing. Sad to say the feminists on Reddit are about typical and won't challenge you but rather reaffirm your beliefs but then that's also a valid result of challenging yourself.

Yeah they ban them. All feminist subs do, including the ones that specifically advertise themselves as more open to debate. The last time you could get feminists to engage with critics was about .... I'm going to say 1998. it was already a shrinking pool before 9-11.

Debate the feminists here. If they come here then they at least THINK they can debate people. They usually leave after a few days when they've learned why all feminist subs ban critics.

Most of Reddit is fairly well known for being echo chambers; this sub included; with perhaps the only real difference being that most men's group subs tend to be open to criticism, discussion, and debate - in contrast to the amount of mod censorship most feminist subs will involve.

If the mods do allow your post, they've likely gone over it with a fine toothed comb to make sure it's not misogynistic; and the trouble it runs into is that any amount of criticism about feminism (or otherwise unfavorable opinion of feminism) won't even make it to the sub; they assume criticism about their precious feminism is misogyny.

They mostly operate from a position of already in agreement with feminism - not arguing against feminism. They argue positions of "how can we make feminism better" - not "how are we sure feminism is 'right'?".

1- Its not women job to fix men problems
2- How women are privilaged, just look how BASIC HUMAN RIGHT is taken away from women, by banning abortion
3- There is no sexism agaisnt men, so all of them
4- It doesnt happend, beacuse men treat women as sex object
5- They dont treat us as human beings

In a recent post asking what mens rights activists get right' this was the top answer. I think it was an excellent answer.

I've been there quite a few times recently. Compared to this sub, the people there seem to be open minded and they actually use facts to back up their claims. Of course you're going to get your comments deleted if you talk about how much you love the lobster guy, but that's because the sub is dedicated to feminists only, hence why it's called askfeminists. However you can still reply to someone else's comment if you want an argument. It's much better than this sub, that goes without saying. I've seen blatant misogyny here, but I haven't seen any "man hate" there.

As much as I'd love to have a civil discussion and reach some common ground, I don't really feel like talking to someone who hates me for things out of my control.

Still, I'm always up for civil discourse with anyone. I'm not perfect, but I'd like to imagine I'm a pretty reasonable and respectful guy.
